For the Blog vs. Newspaper…
I do recall answering for one of the questions:
“overstate the similarity between blogs and newspapers”
As far as the rest, I cannot recall them for now >_<

Whoohoo for Copernicus! I got to throw in big words like heliocentric and cosmology as well, lol. I find it extremely funny and interesting writing essays SAT style, so different from what I’m used to.

Quite true
I guess because I personally have a philosophical bent, the philosophical answer appealed to me (how that goes as a test taking strategy I don’t know haha)

Blog vs. Newspaper… (hmm…)

I agree with Adrenaline, “overstating the similarity”

Passage 2 is critical/concerned that blogs don’t explore subjects in enough depth.

Passage one talks about media being “democratic” whereas passage 2 doesn’t

I have a few questions:

1) The passage about the African-American and reading. What was the second last answer? “Individual and communal”, “Active and passive” or “Depressing and uplifting”?
2) Passage about the parrot. Which answer showed that Alex reasoned with words? Was it “The complexity of the questions”, “The accuracy of the responses”, etc.?
3) Which was the experimental section? :S

Peaches134:
- Individual and communal I believe.
- Accuracy of the responses.
- No idea! Join us in our misery! xD
You should prob wait for theskylitup to confirm this though!

To peaches134

My answers were
a) “Individual and communal”
b) “The accuracy of the responses”
c) I’m pretty sure it was the second one.

EDIT: -highfive lemonade- :D

hahaha! Lemon, you really are too kind!! blushing

I agree with your answers (PS. We largely agree on everything! So you’re probably doing as well or better than I am!)

a)Individual and communal, b)accuracy of the repsonses, and c)no idea.

I don’t remember everything, but usually if someone has a key word or bits of the question, it should ring a bell.

What was the answer to the maths question where they ask you find x when f(x)=f(-3)?

Loool. High fives back anticipator!
theskylitup is so modest! Lol!
Colingray: there are conflicting answers but I believe 2.

its definitely two.
and the fish Q is 56, im sure because i double-checked and had to change my answer, no pounds-conversion because i was stressing over that. i dont even know how many ounces there are to a pound, lol! is it 12?
in general it was pretty easy, yes? only i had to ponder over the urgent vs. sth else question.

The critical reading section with the caravan passage and the critical reading section with the black author both had eight sentence completions at the beginning. I believe that means that one of the two has to have been the experimental section; if they were both scored, there would be too many sentence completions on the test. Can anyone else confirm that logic?

I thought every SAT was supposed to have a scored passage about ethnic minorities, so that makes me think the caravan section was experimental. On the other hand, all the tests in the College Board guide contain a pair of short passages, and that would suggest the caravan section (which I believe began with short paired passages) was not experimental.

Thanks guys.

colingray: I got -1 for that question. I think you can infer this from the graph itself, ie. the value of y when x=-3.

sora2712: I believe the fish question was 54, with k=2/3. I don’t think there was an ounce-pound conversion, because then the answer would be 54/16=3.375, which was not an option…

Did anyone put “The complexity of the questions” for the parrot question? I thought the questions were pretty complex for a parrot… And does anyone remember which CR section the short passage about global warming fell under?

Hey guys? Anyone remember SC questions? what words are you remember?

I debated between urgent and reflective, but I end up choosing urgent. now I think reflective is more appropriate.
His attitude to his descendants is witty what? I noticed the word “revenge” in the lines quoted, so I chose defensive hostility. Probably wrong - -

As for “overstate the similarity between blogs and newspapers”, does anybody remember another option “understate…”? I was debating between them, but I don’t remember what I chose. Can anybody remind me of the option?

peaches134: 54 is correct
sorry, but “the accuracy of the response” is correct

@ Erialc,
I think the option was something like “understate the ability of blogs to break news”

And I’m pretty sure it was witty, or in any case not vengeful - becaue in the passage his quote was (something like) “Oh well, my descendents can’t possibly give me less consideration than I’m giving them” (paraphrasing into modernspeak) Which is pretty witty to me. Or otherwise, nothing to indicate he was feeling hostile.

guys the last sentence in section ten “were they to be told…” what was the answer to this

“By telling them”, that was my answer.

You are just cute. (sob)

@peaches

the parrot one was “the complexity of the questions”, pretty sure

and i know this is the wrong place, but is anyone willing to tell me the score i could get with the following?

math -2
writing 8 -3
reading -7

i wish it breaks 2000!

do u remember anything in sentences improvement having " due to its…"
