December SAT question?

I know that UC schools accept the December SAT. My question is, if you score lower on the December SAT and you wrote on your application that you’re taking the december SAT, are you forced to send your score even if you scored worse? Are there any risks or disadvantages to taking the December SAT?

(Side note : Common app accepts december scores too right?)

UC’s require all scores and will consider the highest total score from a single sitting.
