December SAT: Writing

**** I thought I did ok with writing but now I think I completely messed it up. I thought the last one with the sentence... the choices were all "after sen 9", "after sen 10", etc. But it was "before sen 9" and "before sen 10" ?!?!?!

sigh...

^^^^^^^^^^^
I'm pretty sure I put before 11 for that one...

the choices were not worded in "befores" they were worded in "after"
the answer was "after sentence 10"

you could totally tell by the dates, it was like 1948 or something

I thought there was an answer choice "After 10", so I put that, but apparently it was "before 10".

... my life stinks.

kxliu, im pretty sure that (at least my test) said "after 10", which is what i put...
maybe different tests have different wording?

omg really?! thank god!

lol wow. I could have sworn it said before 11. hmmm. Different form perhaps?

yeah, i know mine said before 11.

so i had an exp writing, and i remember i actually had a "keep as is" answer. was that one real or exp?

Anyone have the question about chemistry? Like "Some elements are easy for students to remember, such as Co for Copper, but those that post the greatest challenge are...

Was that experimental?

I didn't have that so I'm pretty sure it was exp.

Ok, cool. What will 1 wrong question on writing be, assuming I received a 10 on my essay?

i put become interested AND even passionate about..

mine said BEFORE 11. :/

interested and even passionate about is wrong. interested about is wrong. it's interested in. anyways, did everyone only get 3 no errors in finding the errors in the sentence?

I too put interested and even passionate about. I think it's correct.

im pretty sure it's choice A

Can anyone say what like 4 wrong a 9-10 essay would be?

the idiomatic phrase is "interested in" so it should be a.

ok, heres why its A:

the sentence was something like this, "Bob was interested in, even passionate about, rats".

split it up into two sentences and it STILL makes sense

Bob was interested in rats
Bob was passionate about rats

Other people say its, "Bob was interested, even passionate about, rats.

Split THAT up and you get

Bob was interested about rats <--- WRONG
Bob was passionate about rats

exactly; 4 wrong with a 10 essay should be around 740 or so. last time i got 5 wrong, 10 essay, got a 720. but the curve should be harsher, since the writing section was too easy
