December SSAT

The craziest thing happened during my testing. Normally, when I am taking a test, I will answer the questions in the packet. Then if I have time I will look through my answers and change them if need be. Once the test administrator calls the five minute warning, I will transfer all of my answers onto the scan tron sheet. Well, yesterday I did not hear the test administrator call the five minute warning. I had figured that it was coming up, so I started to transfer my answers to the scan tron sheet. Then, the administrator called time, and I only had 15 of the 60 questions filled in. At the end of the test I talked to the administrator, and she was very nice about it and went out of her way to try to help me out. She even called the SSAT office to ask what the procedures were for my scenario. In the end, she filled out a special request form for my test to be graded both in the book, and the scan tron sheet. If that request does not get accepted, I will have to take it again in January, which may turn out to work in my favor if that only section I do poorly on is the section I only had a chance to partially fill in.

my brother took the ssat yesterday and he got the wrong level (upper, not lower). he noticed the mistake before the test started so luckily he had no scoring problems.

Do any of you remember any of the synonyms or analogies from the verbal section? I just want to get a feel for how the questions are. I’m taking the test in January. Also which test book and/or website was the most helpful for the analogy and especially the synonym part of the test. Thanks!

It would be more constructive to spend less time trying to assess which is the “best” test prep book, and spend more time opening the book (it really doesn’t matter which brand-- they are all useful) and actually studying.

I don’t remember any analogies but i do remember some synonyms like flippant, belligerent, antipartisan etc. I think most of them can be found in the practice books (for me I used Princeton Review) so no sweat! I also used flip cards online which helped me a lot. I lost the link now though sorry!
