Decent Cal State Univ for Mechanical Engineering MS?

I graduated from UCLA Undegrad with an GPA of 3.0. Since I do not think I can get into MS program at UCLA, I was looking into Cal State Universities. Which schools near Los Angeles are good for Mechanical Engineering MS? I was looking into CSU Long Beach, Poly Pomona, and Fullerton. Anyone have any knowledge about the programs at these schools and which is the best choice?

Pomona, most likely.

If it is not too hard to do…

1) See if the selected Cal State school allow transfer graduate credit
2) Take about 2 or 3 graduate courses at UCLA as a non-degree graduate student
3) Get A’s in those 2 or 3 UCLA graduate courses
4) Apply to the UCLA grad program AND the Cal State program
5) If UCLA really want to be tough and still not admit you, then finish at the Cal State school, but I don’t know if UCLA would turn down an applicant who has already aced 1/3 of the program.

U should be able to get accepted to ucla w/ 3.0 depending on your gre. A friend of mine went to cal poly w/ a 3.2 and he got in ucla.

If u’d like to transfer, bear in mind that every school limits how many units you can transfer.
2nd ly, I wouldn’t recommend cal poly. Th3 professors are beyotch and just like to see you fail and suffer. Sorry…I have a personal grudge against cal poly…

Cal Poly Pomona over Long Beach and Long Beach over Fullerton. No grade inflation at Cal Poly Pomona like rheidzan said. (I think) A gentleman I knew got his B.S. with a 3.5 GPA at Cal Poly Pomona and his M.S. with a 3.9 GPA from Caltech.
