Decent composite, low writing score?

I tested in September and ended up with a 32 composite, which I'm mostly satisfied with. However, I did very poorly on the writing test, ending up with a 7. The feedback included with the score was positive, so I'm not sure exactly what I did wrong. I can't recall the details of the essay, but I do remember that it was a bit short.

I'm signed up for the October test date, but can't decide if I want to take it again. I have no clue if I could manage to improve my writing score... Would it be a waste of time to take the test again? I'm not sure if I want to waste another Saturday on this.

Does the writing score even matter? I'm applying solely to Canadian universities, but a few of them require the writing test.

Here are the comments I received from the scorers:

“Your essay adequately supported general statements with specific reasons, examples, and details. Your essay maintained focus on the specific issue in the prompt.”

They aren’t very helpful…

those comments are quite useless. But it does state you only “adequately” supported general statements with reasons and examples. Meaning the link between the two is weak or your reasoning and examples are weak

That makes sense, but I’m not sure that I could have done much better. It’s pretty difficult to formulate solid reasons in such a short period of time.
