Hi, I'm going into my junior year and I'm really worried about college and whether or not I'll get into the schools of my choice. I have high aspirations for extracurriculars but my family's financial situation only allows me to go so far. The schools that I'd like to go to are:

Stony Brook University
Salem State University (MA)
West Chester University of Pennsylvania
Metropolitan College of New York
SUNY Binghamton
University of Connecticut

I am out of state. I live in Florida.

My grades:
GPA: Wll be around 3.6-3.7 uw/4.2 w, school doesn't rank, most demanding course load possible with the exception of math.
ACT: No idea. I'm taking that next summer. It should be okay, though. I'm not a great test-taker.
Extracurriculars:

National Honor Society
National Spanish Honor Society (shooting for a leadership position next year)
Astronomy Club (President)
Spanish tutor
A few writing workshops, essay contests (some national, some just local)
Nursing Home Volunteer (175 hours)
Fingerstyle guitar (composer)
Classical Piano

I'm really into languages and writing. I am very musically inclined and have been playing since I was 8. I will enter essay contests very soon, sometime next year for sure.

I really want to go on one of the National Geographic Student Expeditions but my family doesn't have the money for that. I thought it would be a great way to show passion in my resume, as I'm starting to feel as if it's more of a laundry list, which is the last thing that I want to make anyone think. What do you think? How can I show more passion when I only have so much to work with?

The thing I really want to know is this: do you think I will have a decent shot at gaining admission to one of those schools by the time I'm a senior?

Thanks. I'm really worried and would appreciate some feedback!!!! :)
