decent stats, weak EC's....chances at Barnard or NYU?

Ok so here goes. I am a white jewish female from NJ (no points there!) If it matters I was born in England moved here in 96. So anyway I guess I'll list my stats and where I"m interested in and please, any feedback will be read. (I was going to say appreciated but I may not appreciate it but I will certainly read it lol)

GPA: 93.5 unweighted (huge upward trend, junior year gpa about 97)

SAT: 730 CR 710M 660W = 2100 (Am retaking June, shocked by writing score, hopefully it will improve-practice tests were like 750s)

SAT II: haven't taken yet, will take oct/nov in us history, math IIC and maybe lit.

Classes: taking 4 AP's total, max that school allows, and am in honors for math and science. I attend an extremely rigorous, dual curriculum school, which means that in addition to math, science, history, english I have four other judaic classes every day.

APs: us history, biology, english, calculus AB

Rank: It is a very small, very competitive school, that doesn't rank. My rank would be approx 15/50 (50 is the biggest grade we've ever had!) Which I know looks bad but It needs to be taken in context.

ECs (prob my weakest point other than class rank):
Student Ambassador Committee : 9, 10, 11, 12
Drama Club: 9,11,12
Newspaper: 11,12 (reporter, then world news editor)
Charity committe: 9, 12 - (possibly chair of committee, TBA)
Literary Journal: 12
Worked as Youth Leader in my synagouge: (8,9,10,11,12)
Worked as Youth Leader in backyard camp during summer (9,10,11)

Well I guess thats it. I"ve been to visit a couple of colleges and listened to some representatives speak, so hear is the list of colleges I'm interested in.

Barnard
NYU
Brandeis
U of Maryland
Boston U
Rutgers

Please rate my chances at these and offer any other possible match schools. Thank you!!

I know a young lady who has very similar stats and profile to yours. She applied to a number of schools and did get into Barnard but not NYU. However, I know kids who have gotten into NYU with your stats depending on their interests. You seem to have a decent range of schools on your list. I would suggest looking at some schools that are reaches but not so typical for a NJ student along. The problem is that so many NY/NJ kids apply to all of your choices. It's not that it is impossible that you will get in and that these schools should not be on your list, but that you will have more choices if you go "out of network".

I think you could get into Barnard and NYU. But from what I have seen Barnard is a lot harder to get into than NYU...

bummmmmmp please!

i'm pretty sure u can get into nyu, cas right? no idea abt barnard though
remember: nyu values maturity, trying expressing it through the essays.

Yeah, cas is probably what I'd apply to, I don't have hugely specified interests as of yet, so that's probably best for me.

nobody has anything to say?? ouch.
