Decided on Dobie OR University Towers? what you think

thye have bevo bucks that you can buy to eat on campus

You can’t get a UT meal plan if you live off campus. I tried. I even work on campus, but even if I buy staff dine-in dollars, they still just get charged as Bevo Bucks, which is lamer than lame.
So, Bevo Bucks are your only option. That gets you a 10% discount at any Division of Housing and Food Service Location, which is not nearly as cheap as Dine-In Dollars at the All-You-Can-Eat establishments, but it’s something.

Oh, also, there’s wireless all over UT. If you have a device that picks up wireless well, you can use the internet almost anywhere on campus, in a building, on a bench, in a grassy field, on a roof. It’s great.

Do you think I should change my meal plan at Dobie from 14 meals a week to 7, and just opt for the bevo bucks? Also how do I get the bevo bucks? Is it actual money I deposit in a card?

yea bevo bucks is actual money you can put it into your account or your parents can from home.
& I decided to share a double room at Castilian. I already paid $50 application fee and will pay the $200 confirmation fee (they gave 50 % discount on the confirmation fee of $400 since I’ll be signing a lease within 72 hours of the dorm tour.) I am doing semester payments and chose 10 meals/week plan.
Since both Dobie and Castilian are both close to the campus, the three major reason I chose Castilian was b/c of 1. Better Food 2. Wireless Connection 3. Clean atmosphere
Financial Aid (grants, loans, scholarship…) will cover my tuition , housing, and books but I am a little concerned about other expenses.

1.Are there any other expenses that I am not aware of, besides little things like milk, cereal, water, snacks that I could probably buy from my part-time work paycheck?

I called in and was informed that I won’t be getting federal-work study b/c they are out of funds. However, how hard is it to find a job off campus and when should I start applying? any places you recommend / don’t rec commend.

Start applying for a job yesterday.
