I applied to Ithaca at the beginning of November. I was wondering if anyone knew when they sent out acceptance/rejection letters?

My D was just accepted with a 7,000 scholarship. She applied in Nov as well so you should be hearing soon

Funny... I just got my acceptance letter today for the Communications school, with a dean's scholarship of $5,000 a year. Kind of dissappointed with the scholarship money though.

My D was disappointed as well, she got a lot more at her other schools, so it will most likely not be an option. I believe their highest is 10,000

Would you all mind sharing the students' stats? A family member is dying to go to Ithaca, and I was wondering. He applied back in November also.

My D hasn't heard anything yet. Ithaca is the one college I was hoping to hear from in January. Is Itahca your top choice, where else are you waiting to here from?

My stats:
1280 SAT
3.9 weighted GPA
560 writing/ 510 US History/ 630 MathIC SAT II's
10/121 rank
Great recommendations including one from a state senator
Extracurriculars:
NHS President
10 Varsity letters including Soccer, Golf, Track
Student Council VP
Band VP and Section Leader
Athletes Against Substance Abuse 9-12
VICA Health Knowledge Bowl State Champion
And the list goes on and on...

Ithaca is one of my top choices along with Boston College, Northeastern, and Bucknell. Hope this helped!

Just got my acceptance letter yesterday (I applied dec. 15) and I got a 13,000 scholarship

you'll get in

still waiting to hear if I'm a Park Scholar finalist...does anyone know just how competitive that is...I know only 20 people get it a year...but their "requirements" aren't that high...

Cboryca what are your stat's that you got so much money? I'm kinda disappointed with my 5,000.

Wow, $13000, thats great. Did any of you that recived the scholarships do anything extra besides the regular applications required, what I mean is did you have to apply seperately for these scholarships?

I applied in October, and I have not heard anything yet, although they did send me information from the volleyball coaches, and informtion on a leadership scholarship- which I did not apply for since Ithaca was not my first choice. I am curious though because a classmate got her acceptance last week, and I have not heard. I applied to the communications program- Sat1- 720V, 620M, 710 writing, 3.7 unweighted GPA- all honors and some AP courses- very competitive large highschool. I'm curious why I have not heard. I got a presidential scholarship at Marist, a Dean's scholarship at Quinnipiac- neither were my first choices. I got in my first choice- but no money.

Lilly1.... I also applied to the Communications school, but I applied in November, I heard from them Friday and I received a 5,000 scholarship from them. I think you and I have pretty similar stats. I have a gpa of 3.9 weighted, with SAT scores of 610v/670m. I also got accepted at Quinnipiac and received a Dean scholarship of 10,000. I'm sure you'll be fine and you'll hear from them in no time!

I didn't apply for any of the seperate scholarships, but if I had known about them before hand, I probably would have. Too bad the deadline was January 15th. Luckily enough, the Presidential and Dean Scholarships you don't need to appy for.

Yeah...my stats are:
1400 SAT (700V, 700M); 4.0 GPA UW; Rank of 8/423
I also applied to Park School of Communications
This school does have a separate scholarship application...the Park Scholars Award, which I applied for. You have to write two additional essays...I probably won't hear back on that until March...but it is awesome...they pay total cost including tuition, room and board, stipend for expenses, and $2500 for the purchase of a computer. I REALLY want it... :)

Ugh, I really wish I had known about it earlier and would have applied for it. I mean the chances that I wouldn't have gotten are huge, but it at least it would have been a shot.

I finally got my acceptance letter today. Ithaca was not my first choice school, but I could not believe that I received absolutely no scholarship money. It makes no sense.

You didn't get anything?? That's kind of odd considering your stats are a lot better than mine. Even though I recieved my money with the letter of acceptance, maybe yours will come later?

Thanks. My stats are not alot better than yours. It does seem odd though- my rank is not as good as yours. My rank is unweighted, as is my gpa. I did send 1st quarter grades, and my gpa was 96.14 unweighted with 4 ap/college courses, and pre-calc. I may e-mail them. I would never attend Ithaca without some merit aid- I applied as a safety.

Yeah I wouldn't go there either without money... I'm actually probably gonna try to get more money from them telling them that Quinnipiac gave me $10,000 and Northeastern gave me whatever (haven't received scholarships from them yet though, even though i'm expecting a good amount). You should try that too. Quinnipiac and Ithaca have pretty similar stats ranking wise.

Even though Ithaca was not my first choice, I feel insulted that they did not offer me any merit aid. I also was accepted at northeastern. Boston is where I want to be. I do not qualify for financial aid- even though we are clearly middle class and any private college I go to will be a strain- the plight of the middle class. Do you think that they made a mistake? This college was a safety for me. I was turned off at the information session I went to because the guide said that journalism "Is such a nothing major". What did your admittance letter say? Mine said" Clearly, you have much to offer the Ithaca College community and we are delighted to extend to you admission to
the college.
