Deciding a Major.

I'm looking at going to med school after my undergrad. I'm almost equally interested in the below and have no idea what to major/minor in. Help me out here.

I'm pretty sure I can handle a double major or one major and two minors. I'll probably be able to handle a double major and a minor, but I'd like to have a life too, so it's gonna be my last resort if I really can't choose.

What I'm looking for in the choices is, in case I don't make it all the way through med school (or if I get bored of doctor-ing), which can I use as a back up the easiest?

These are the majors I'm looking at.

Psychology
Neuroscience
Biochemistry
Behavioral Biology (I think this is probably the least favorite, although I really can't choose between the other three...and I really do want to study behavioral biology too.)

Let me know what you think. Ask questions.

First, I think this is in the wrong forum, it needs to be in either college life or majors.

I'd say neuroscience is the most up-and-coming of the four mentioned. You may be more likely to get a decent job/internship out of graduation with neuro, esp working with MRI and CAT scans and that shiznit. From what I hear, med school is just about high GPAs and good test scores.

Then again, I'm 17 and wanting to be a math major so what do I know? ;)

All are pretty good alternatives. Marquette has a great job spreadsheet based on majors that is worthwhile to look over. I think it is one of the best college planning pieces created. It is worth a look.

I don't think there's any way that 4 years of college won't reshape any decision you could make about those four majors right now.

Try to find a cure for lung cancer. Oh wait...

^ haha, bashing smoking once again I see :)

meduh, what do you mean by "which can I use as a back up the easiest?"

IMO, psychology is a sort of overdone major, unless you go on to graduate school in it.

It's a tough choice, but you don't have to decide completely right now. Even if you do, it's quite likely you'll change your mind in college anyway.

I don't know what I want to major in either- psychology, journalism, photography, behavioral biology, philosophy, so many choices! I see a double major or minor in my future...

yeah psychology is very, very common in pre-med so you probably dont want to do it unless you are truly interested in it...im planning on doing BME as premed ....but the thing os, you dont neccesarily need to do anything science related because all you have to do is fulfill pre-med reqs. ...so you can do whatever interests you..

I think neuroscience is a good major. I am planning on majoring in neuroscience for pre-med next year. It really depends on your interests.

Hmm.. I really, really do love psych though. As well as all of the mentioned above.

By a back up, I mean, if I don't make it completely through med school for some reason, which one will allow me to get a job the easiest?

Also, I forgot to mention that I also want to get a Ph.D in some subject so that I can do research as well as be a doctor. What's good for that?

I'd go with Creative Poetry-Writing.

Sorry I can't offer you any real advice. Neuroscience would be pretty sick though.
