Deciding between BU and Case Western

I was admitted to Boston University (CAS) and Case Western Reserve and I’m having a hard time choosing between the two. I will be majoring in biology (or some variation of biology) and I definitely want to be involved in research as an undergrad (I’m thinking about becoming a biomedical scientist). Currently, I’m leaning towards BU, mainly due to location (Boston is a pretty sweet college town).

Which school do you think I should go to?

Which do you think is better in terms of food, dorms, bio departments, research opportunities, things to do in the area, etc?

If there was one reason you wouldn’t go to Case Western or BU, what would that reason be?

For graduates of Case Western and BU, how are your job prospects? How has the school made it easier for you to get a job (or not)?

Thanks in advance!

I made this same exact choice actually for Bio and I chose BU. I really chose BU because of Boston and I was not sure I would want to go to a school that was mostly STEM people (Case). I think research wise you have a much better chance of doing research at Case and I also liked the food and dorms better at Case. The dorms at Case tended to be smaller units and you don’t have to pay for laundry :P. I also don’t like having security guards personally. On the other hand there is more stuff to do in Boston for sure, BU has a nicer gym and is in a less crime-ridden city and also has better weather. Both BU and Case have grade deflation from what I am aware of.

Boston vs Cleveland /// end thread

That’s doing a disservice to both universities when you say that. Case is more than Cleveland and BU is more than Boston.

bu without a second thought
