Hey everyone,
I'm winding down to my last credits at a CC and trying to pin down a major. As of right now, I'm considering double majoring Psychology and English, as those both are my passions. My GPA would be a 3.4, if all goes to plan. Being that FSU's psychology program is limited access and I most likely won't get in, should I go to USF and double major in both? In terms of career, I can see myself either a Clinical Psychologist or a Public Relations specialist. Is FSU's prestige more valuable than pursing the double major at USF?

The curricula at the two schools are really about the same; one can get a sound education and can enjoy a great college experience at either USF or FSU. Yale, Harvard, and Princeton are prestigious American colleges; USF and FSU are solid, large public state universities. FSU is probably more recognized by general public than USF simply because it is more than twice as old; USF is only a little more than 50 years old…just because you’re older though doesn’t necessarily mean you’re better. I still kinda think of FSU as Florida’s women’s college! Either school is great, I’m sold on USF.

I don’t think FSU has much more prestige than USF. Either way you’re going to get a solid education at both schools. Once you get your MS or PhD (will you will need) it won’t matter where you went at that point.

I disagree, I do feel like FSU has “that” background as a school for being just below UF (but higher than USF) But yea undergrad doesn’t matter. I would say go to the school with more majors that you see potential in (because you may change your mind)

That’s true, thank you guys for putting it into perspective!
