Even though the deadline is now only 5 days away, I am still somewhat undecided about attending UC Berkeley or Tufts for the next four years. At Berkeley I will study architecture or urban studies and take classes in civil engineering, hopefully picking up a minor in structural or environmental engineering, but at Tufts I would major in civil engineering. I am leaning towards Berkeley because of its location, interesting major, and prestige, but I know that Tufts might be a more intimate experience and that an engineering degree of any kind is very valuable. I’d really appreciate any input/comments you may have, since the deadline is rapidly approaching! Thanks!
Hi Congratulations! Both choices are super great! My first question is do you qualify for in-state tuition and how is the Financial Aid for both schools?
First of all, what do you really want to study? (civil engineering or architecture)
Note that neither school has a BArch program (which is typically a 5-year program), although a BA/BS in architecture could allow you to do an MArch in a shorter time than would normally be required for someone with a BA/BS in an unrelated major.
Of course, net price and amount of debt involved matter as well.
