Deciding majors

Would declaring a major as “undecided” affect outcomes versus declaring as “biology”?

I’m talking about all the campuses.

It will affect you if you go to UCSD, as biology is now an impacted major. [enrollment management](http://biology.ucsd.edu/undergrad/enrollmentmanagement.html)

In the case of Cal, all students in the College of Letters and Science are listed as “undeclared” when they enter their freshman year. So as long as your major is within the College of Letters and Science, it doesn’t matter what major you write down on your application. Both of our biology majors (molecular & cellular bio and integrative bio) are in the College of L&S.
