Deciding not to apply to a particular college anymore

My teachers and counselor have already sent their rec letters to all my colleges by mail. I'm wondering if it'll hurt me in any way if I decide not to apply to one of the colleges anymore and not turn in the application (I haven't paid the application fee yet.) Could not turning in that one application hurt my chances of getting into any of the other colleges I am applying to? Thanks in advance for your input!

Shouldn’t. The college will be way too busy with everyone else to even think about you. If you really don’t feel like applying, don’t.

No. This situation happens all the time, and colleges are used to it.

I would write them something that graciously retracts your application, though, so that they can just toss out what they have already instead of wasting space with your file.

Probably happens all the time. Though many schools deadlines are Jan 1st, so make sure they are postmarked.

Thanks everyone for your help! :]
