I just started 11th grade and I want to major in pre-med or something in the science but I am still not sure about what AP classes will be right for me this year and my senior year.I want to be a doctor when I grow up.
Here my classes for this year:

AP Bio
AP U.S History
Honors Physics
Honors Pre-Calc.
Honors Calc.

I was supposed to take Honors Chemistry this year as well but my counselor couldn't fit it into my schedule so I will have to take it next year. I had to pick between either Honors Chem. or Honors Physics which ultimately determines wether I am going to take AP Physics or AP Chemistry NEXT year. I chose the Physics but there is still time to change it.
I dont know what I should do. I already have the AP Bio this year, so after graduating should I have had AP Bio and AP Physics on my transcript or AP Bio and AP Chem.?
I chose the AP Bio and AP Physics because I thought that Physics was needed for pre-med as well besides just Bio and Chem., plus it will give me sort of a variety for colleges to look at since Biology and Chemistry are kind of very related.
Can someone please help me on deciding whether to do AP Bio with AP Physics or AP Bio with AP Chem.?

Take AP chem. You need chem not physics. Four years ago I called Princeton, Yale, Rutgers and several BA/MD programs because my D wanted to take Anatomy not physics. They said it was fine as long as her program was rigorous. Scientist MD programs like RPI and engineering majors need the physics not bio majors. Some of the combined programs let you even take physics in college that is not even calculus based which is easier.

Most require Biochem today and you will need it for the new MCAT . Keep up the good grades and good luck.

College level physics will be on MCAT. The new MCAT will require biochem, psych and sociology not just bio, chem and physics . That is unless you get into a BA/MD program that does not require the MCATs.

No, my D was waitlisted Yale and got into Cornell and Brown without physics but she was a Val with good SAT and 16 good ec’s. The upper ivies with all that great merit aid
want research and/or Siemens Science finalists added to the mix.

You have to remember their (HPY) acceptance rate for an unhooked applicant is about half the published rate since they have legacies, athletes , and donors ahead of you.

Remember you will take 3 years of chem in college and only one of physics. Also in New Jersey you take either honors or AP not both for a subject. My D always took AP when possible. She had about 24 plus 2 summers of credits at Cornell. My friend’s S got 48 AP credits at his Catholic school and will have his BS in physics in 2 years including summers. He hopes to do his grad work at Princeton 's physics lab.
