Hi, I'm going to be a senior in high school this year and I am interested in the medical field. I am currently volunteering at a hospital, have a cumulative 3.87 GPA, and an ACT of 34. I am trying to look at colleges to apply to for both pre-med and direct programs, but am not really sure about which path to take. I would like to know about the pros and cons, which path you would recommend for me, and a few names of colleges for both that you know would help me in this great endeavor. Thanks a lot!

What state do you live in? Private or public university preference? Any other test scores? Class Rank? Research? Awards?

I live in Illinois. I don’t really have a preference of whether it’s private or public as long as it’s not too small. I would like to attend a university that’s more medium or bending a little towards large in size. Um for test scores I took an AP Calc BC one and got a 5. Our school doesn’t use ranks. I’m in the National Honors Society, got an award for Honors Physics and am planning to major in it. I have not really been involved in research however…

Toss out a few in state schools you are interested in and CC will advise you on “fit” for you.
