Hey guys, I’m seriously considering attending UCD this fall, and I’d like to get some insight from current UCD students. I’m more a numbers person, so I’d like if you could rank each of the categories below on the scale of 1-10 (1 is bad, 10 is the best). You don’t have to write any comments, just a number.

Academic programs (specifically biology)

Research or intern opportunities

Campus lifestyle

Social life

People (nice? close-knit?)

Dorms

Good-looking people? (not the most important factor, I know, but just curious)

Are classes hard?

Food?

Thank you for your time! You don’t have to answer every question. It’d be great if you could just answer the ones that you know about. Thank you so much!

I’ll answer a few questions. I was there last week and took a tour. Campus is beautiful. Great facilities. Dorms are relatively new and nice. Campus has a kind of laid back style. the town around it has great shops and restaurants and is very easy for students to get to. People and students seems nice. No cars allowed on campus, only bikes. You can do a virtual tour online. Actual campus is huge. Biggest of all the UCs. Good luck.

@ BocaAlban: you’re wrong that cars aren’t allowed on campus, because they are, otherwise there wouldn’t be parking lots for cars (and those parking lots are part of campus), such as by the Silo and by Tercero (there’s a parking lot right in front of Leach Hall). However, cars can only go through campus on the large paved roads.

Also, only a few of the dorm buildings are new, namely the ones in Tercero and Segundo (I think the high-rise ones are new). All the ones in Cuarto are old (not old as in falling apart, btw).
