deciding what math class to take...

I will be a freshman in stern this fall and basically I'm apprehensive about what math class will be best for me to take.

I took AP Calc AB my junior year of high school and got a 5 on the ap test.

I took AP Calc BC my senior year of high school and got a 5 on the ap test.

So I am signed up for Calc I right now, but I feel like that is pretty stupid... I've taken Calc I for two years in a row. I don't really want to take Calc II (I hate power series)... so basically that leaves linear algebra, or if I can place into it, Calc III.

Is linear algebra extremely difficult? Or just different? Do any freshman really take it?

Is it difficult to place into calc III? Is calc III worse than calc II?

University level calculus is pretty different from high school calc. Even though you did well on your APs, I’d recommend staying in Calc I, or trying to place into Calc II at the very most.

Linear algebra is easier than calculus imo and certainly more useful.

lots of freshman take linear.
most of the sternies that take it are actsci majors.
