Deciding when it's time to transfer

I'm a freshman at a state school.

Lately, I've been quite indecisive about wanting to transfer to another school...There are those gloomy depressing days where I really want to transfer and then those couple of days per week when I think about the very few friends I've made here that make me want to rethink the whole transfer process. I also think about the opportunities in leadership roles I've acquired, etc. that will allow me to grow and establish ties throughout the next few years.

I feel unmotivated and simply feel that I do not fit in... this has (I feel), unfortunately, affected my grades a little. Sometimes I feel that staying here will eventually drive me crazy.

My question is when/how did you decide that your previous college was not "the one"? Is it normal to feel this way during your freshman year?

This is a common problem that I see on here often. Why are you having trouble fitting in at your current school? And why exactly do you believe that would be different from any other school? Determine if your reasons for transferring are curable before you transfer.
