Thanks plaidman! We are anxiously waiting to hear! My D's friend WAS called the other day by Lara to let them know they were accepted and was at the top of the list and wanted to make sure they were still interested. (and NO this person is not a private student of his.lol) Maybe he just called a few kids.

Yes thank you Plaidman! Your assurances are very welcome in this crazy process! :-)

That said, my d's friend got an email yesterday letting her know she was accepted. this person was also accepted at CMU, Ithaca and several others... so I know this person is extremely desirable. Given 2Bornot2B67's info and this, could it be they're calling/ emailing those on the top of the lists to make sure they are still interested since I don't think Webster has a waitlist? Just a thought...

hmmm... We'll just have to wait and see...

I wish you all much luck and positive results. My D absolutely loves Webster. We are from California too (central valley, south of Sacramento) and moving to St. Louis was a shock and change, but she couldn't be happier. I just got off the phone with D and she's crazy busy with crew work, conservatory studies, and rehearsal for the freshmen one acts (their first and only performance all year). With all the work, D tells me that she wouldn't change it for the world, even with the exhaustion. So, my advice to all of our babies is be prepared. The school journey needs to be challenging, which ever school you decide to attend, because this business will surely be a challenging career.

Best of luck to all. My prayers and good thoughts go out to each one of you.

SarasMom...if you dated yourself...I am just as 'dated'...LOL, as I remember "beautiful downtown Burbank" as though it was yesterday. AND I'll have you know that my husband & I fell in love with Burbank when we were out there last August. My guys are living in Sherman Oaks...not far from you. They are both working at the Studio Cafe in Studio City...so if you get a hankering for wonderful eggs benedict stop and see them...they can fill you in on Webster. Ask for Alex & Nathan....tell A&N you are a College Confidential parent...they're use to it. ;)

Good luck to everyone.

I noticed that somebody asked about how many students Webster accepts, and wanted to clear that up. There is no set quota for how many are accepted to either the Musical Theatre or Acting programs, and in fact, some who auditioned for MT have been accepted into the Acting program in the past. My memory is a bit foggy, but I believe last year around 50 people were accepted, which yielded a class of around 25 (including Acting, MT, and Directing), the current Freshman class has a majority of Acting majors, but it doesn’t always turn out that way. My class (Class of '11) started out with 21 (7 Acting/14 MT).

Oh my gosh 5 pants, they ARE in my backyard! Thank you for letting me know. D will definitely seek them out if she gets an acceptance. Here’s hoping…

btw, I would imagine that’s their day job while they try and make their mark upon Hollywood, yes? If so, I wish them the best! :-)

Thanks for the clarification Bunch!

SarasMom, yes that is their “day” job…perfect as it allows flexiblity for auditions. Alex said he would be more than happy to speak with you or her anytime. Let me know. I have had my PM turned off but will turn back on for just in case. :)

Okay…so know I have heard TWO people who have been accepted to Webster for MT. Both seem to have been called on the same day. Shouldn’t be long for the rest of us!

hmmm, two calls and an email… that we know of. This notification process can really make your head do a 360! Anyone know if any of the Acting acceptances have been through email or the phone? Oh… nevermind. Time to stop thinking about it and just go with flow…I think. :-)

5pants: Ah yes, I remember it well. Just this evening ( just got home ) I got together with some ol’ acting/ directing buddies of mine from way back when. There were lots and lots of great stories of great times we had. No matter what, your kids are creating wonderful memories that will last a lifetime and hopefully lead to a successful career. Some of my bud’s are quite successful these days, so I know it can and does happen! Again I wish them the best of luck!

Thank you muchly! And thank you to your twins! Hope daughter has cause to sit and chat with them over a cup of tea. :-)

but I wanted to extend my good wishes and crossed fingers to all of you waiting for Webster news! It won’t be long now!!

My daughter is also a busy, happy junior MT BFA, along with marianne406’s daughter. I’d be happy to help with any info if I can :)

I have to say that I’m shocked to hear anyone has received calls and/or emails. Last year, they were very close mouthed about it; although, at the unifieds she was told she would be receiving an offer. We tried not to count our chickens so the waiting was still very tough. From what my D learned, there were only a couple of students who auditioned last year who were told anything like that at auditions. I have found Webster to try very hard to wait until April 1. With that said, you are all in my prayers. Best of luck.

OMG!!! ACCEPTED BFA MUSICAL THEATRE!!!

Ok… now I have to find a cheap flight pronto! :-)

Thanks to all for the words of encouragement and offers of help! D will be grateful to have some students to speak with.

She’s soooooo haaappyyy!

Really happy for your D, SarasMom! It only takes one MT acceptance and she has it now and it is very exciting!

Thank you!! You are amazingly supportive of so many people. It’s kind of you to remember. We now have another success story for taking a gap year and re-auditioning. It can be done!

SarasMom!!! What wonderful news!!! Congrats, congrats, congrats!!!

No Webster mail for us today…here’s to still hoping…

Thank you! It feels funny to be the first one to get a notice. We’re all the way in California.

My fingers and toes are crossed for you & everyone else who’s still waiting. I’m sure word will be arriving soon!

Good luck!

Sarasmom,
THat is exciting news! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I’m sure any other parents on here would be happy to help or put your D in touch with our children.

I’m crossing my fingers for the rest of you.

Marianne

Congrats here too. I remember, as if it were yesterday, the feeling the whole family got when my D’s acceptance came from Webster. She was lucky to have a few choices, but her heart was set on Webster and she’s not sorry at all. Feel free to ask any questions or PM me to get my D’s info if you want to speak to her for any reason.

Yea again! Now here’s a positive thought for all those still waiting. Best to all.
