So a lot of the UCs are letting students know early if they got in this year via internet. While I've checked my application status and I'm still met with that same aggravating "Decision Pending" message, I was wondering if any of you guys have received a decision or know of anyone who has?
Also I'm an incoming Freshman for Fall 2012.

Only Riverside and Irvine started releasing decisions. My status for UCSB still says “Decision Pending”.

Actually I’ve heard of applicants from ucsd cur and uci all getting admission notifications. but of course I didn’t apply to any of those colleges -_-

don’t they release it march 21st? or is that just a “by march 21st” type thing?

Good luck future freshmen. '

Good luck.

“future freshmen”
I hope you’re right!

Help us Lim

I got into merced and riverside
When does ucsb release decisions!!??? How hard is it to get in?
Sat? Gpa? Ecs?

Son just received “Regents Scholarship” to UCSB today via mail.

Omg congratulations anotherlamemom! what are his stats like?
and ucsb releases its decisions thee week of March 12th I believe?

Same, also got regents in mail today

omg congrats guys!!!
what are your stats/gpa/sats ?
so happy for you

Gpa: 3.95
sat: 2320

If you got the regents scholarship, does that mean you got into the school?

i got regents scholarship in the mail today…i’m pretty confused about what it means. am i admitted or what?

Hey there. I just got the decision in the mail too, and I called the office with a few questions. Here’s what I found out:

IF you are admitted to UCSB, THEN you will receive the scholarship. However, if you got the regent’s scholarship in the first place, you are in the top 2% of applicants. This basically means you are going to get into UCSB. It’s weird that they notify us early, before we even get into their school.

Here’s my stats if anyone is wondering:
UC GPA: 4.35
ACT: 33
APs: Calc AB-5, APUSH-5, AP Physics B-5. In Progress: AP econ, AP Gov, AP Calc BC, AP Psychology, AP Chemistry
Lots of leadership in extracurriculars.

D got the Regents scholarship as well today in the mail, outright. She has a 2310, 3.95 unweighted, about a 4.27 UC GPA (that’s just guessing.) 5 5’s on her 6 AP’s (3 on the one other). 3 years varsity sport, 2 years editor of her school magazine, and other things. National Merit finalist…

It seems to me that very few of the kids offered Regents would actually attend because their stats are high enough to secure them merit aid at better universities. Does anyone have stats on this? If only 2% are offered Regents what is the quantity in terms of the number of students? Beyond that, how many total students offered Regents actually attend the UCSB? It seems UCSB must not end up with much of a true outlay for Regents.
-----Curiouser and curiouser

UCSB states that there are currently 200 Regents scholars at their school, so it seems like about 50 take the scholarship and attend UCSB each year.

YAY!! Got my UCSB Regents Scholar notification yesterday too! Congratulations to all of you too! It’s going to be a difficult decision if I have this scholarship and get into my first choice schools too.
