I have to make a decision about my summer options, and I hope someone can offer me some advice.

I'm a sophomore at Yale in biomed eng. Very research oriented, which is where I always thought I would go, but recently I've pondered the management path, which led me to apply for a biotech VC firm. I got an offer just today, and I'm required to respond soon, but I also applied to some awesome research (genentech, NIH, etc.) who won't get back to me until too late. There's no way I can extend the decision date.

Should I take the VC offer? It's not where I thought I would go but the more I think about it the more awesome it sounds - perfect way to combine my interest in tech with entrepreneurship in a management role. I know I would absolutely love working in an awesome research environment though, but that's something I can also do next summer?

Should I reject the offer and hope to hear good news from research firms? Or should I take it?
