Decision at 5pm?

Why? why 5 pm? we get it the next day morning.. technicallly they should release according to time zones.. or why cant they give the decision at 8am or smthing coz m 12 hours ahead.. n it kinda sucks to wait till morn 5am to get the decision!

Since releasing the decisions by time zone would be completely within reason.

lol, im going to be checking for the decision email at work then - and thats gonna feel so odd

is it 5pm est or pst

PST I guess

california, so our time :)

5 pm EST, 2 pm PST

juventus r u sure
tat menas close to 3.5 hrs left

Lol juv why would it be est... Ucb is in Cali

5 PM PT, though sometimes they have come out sooner. But if they say 5 PM, they mean PT :)

Stanford made their deadlines EST....

I thought previous threads have established that it's 2 PST, unless I'm mistaken.

MY Ds year it showed up around 330pm

that would be awesome if it was 2PST

The decisions will go out sometime on Thursday, March 27th, 2008. There's no time set in case we run into any issues (i.e. the failed email job that was supposed to send a general email to all applicants on Friday, which caused this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/477450-email-ucb-admissions-about-mar-27-decions-5.html)

are you an officer at berkeley?

mybarkeleyapp, now ucb as nickname - if they are legit UCB adm. people, shouldn't they be talking to each other and come out with one explanation on the official UCB adm. website - or at least setup an official blog (like UCLA, MIT did)

At least next year, hope they mimic UCLA, MIT etc. in creating an official UCB admission blog, so no one wonders the authenticity...

yeah seriously....

If the email was intended to be a general reminder of when UCB decisions would be released, the wording probably should have been kept simple and general. ;)

On a humorous note... Can you imagine the admissions committee's horrified reaction if tables were turned and UCB applicants, en masse, had proclaimed, 'Don't admit any other applicant until you receive my reply, I'm worth the admit!'. :D :D :D

If the logic makes sense then you probably can deduce the authenticity of my statement.
