Decision Countdown

Approx. 15 days to go as of now.

or 8 or 9 if they reply as they have in recent history!

haha that is why I said 'as of now' :p

I am so anxious as a Chinese applicant

Bets anyone? I'm thinking 12/08 5pm.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills

My bet is in for 12/7 at 3:00 PM
... but there is a new Dean of Admissions as well as 9% more applications than last year... so, I really have no idea what to expect. All i know is that it wont be December 15th, because that's a saturday and they always send decisions out on a work day.

Lalala..

in for the countdown

and excited

but seriously, have you guys been counting the whole month? i thought i would be anxious and stuff but after clicking submit, i have kind of stopped thinking or worrying about it, which is sure nice.

at any rate after seeing this thread i'm sure i wont forget it.

now i'm even more excited

are you guys getting all your other applications ready to go? I dont wanna waste the time to write all those other essays...think it would be too much of a stretch to do them in the 2-3 weeks after we hear from dartmouth?

Don't you guys have to get record release forms in for your RD colleges well before we get our ED decisions?

And yea, the 12/08 really isn't plausible. I guess 12/10 5pm then.

I will be mailing out my application materials by the 10th.

shackleton : My colleges dont require a major essay. Most of them ask for short answers. YOu talking about Yale and Princeton?

I hope its 12/08 :)

boy, i hope I'm accepted because if not I will probably spend the whole weekend finishing essays (all supplemental) for my RD schools plus I have a big english research paper due on the 12th. [keeping fingers crossed]

Hello everyone. I have been a lurker for quite some time now, but I also applied ED so I thought I should join my fellow EDers in their public anxiety. I just realized that I will discover my decision in about two weeks, and I had a little freak out. Well...a BIG freak out. What will you do if you get into Dartmouth?...the GREATEST undergraduate institution imo, and probably all yours too or you would not have applied ED xD IT'S SO EXCITING!

I will run naked through the streets then into a news broadcast and shout I GOT INTO DARTMOUTH!! I GOT INTO DARTMOUTH!!!

Then order like 5 D sweatshirts and wear them everyday.

i don't think i want to face essay work after getting the boot from Dartmouth. i will finish the rd applications this weekend. nothing would make me happier than finding out i did a lot of extra work for nothing!

^ I'm almost done with mine. I have to mail them earlier.

Do the essays now, before you hear. If you're not accepted, you will go into a major funk, and you'll be really upset that you have to write all sorts of other apps and essays. Do it now, and just hope you wasted all that time.

Bows All hail VeryHappy! bows again

I just have to write those short answers. sigh, lets get started...

Ajayc, as you know, the common app essay is 500 words. A lot of the short answers are ~500 words also; it's a pain in the ass.

And yea, I need to get a Dartmouth sweatshirt, a picture frame, and a lighter. If I get in, I'll wear the sweatshirt for a month straight, frame my acceptance letter (and/or email printout), and burn my other applications. If I don't, I'll burn the sweatshirt and rejection letter. And possibly my house.

pretty solid plan, sneamia
