I think I'm going to take you literally.

this is really stressing me out! shouldn't we have gotten an e-mail or something telling us when to look.. or in the past has that e-mail come the week of?

I seem to remember somebody on here saying they were given an e-mail 5 days before D-Day. That would mean today (sunday) or tomorrow (monday)? if it were actually this friday. (keeping my fingers crossed)

ahh good to know.

i find myself becoming rather obsessed with college confidential these days. its kind of sad. i check my mail, then facebook, and then this whenever i sign on the computer.

Guys. Just go here:

First 2005 decision: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/dartmouth-college/123530-official-decision-thread.html#edit1514077

First 2006 decision: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/dartmouth-college/272745-official-dartmouth-ed-11-results.html#edit3298431

I'm guessing a 12-07 decision would be highly likely.

gnc2773....... that is LITERALLY the order of websites I open every time I go onto a computer. E-mail, Facebook, CC. I am obsessed! I really hope that we find out friday!

And someone make a new decision thread, or at least a new decision format. It is way too heavy on the statistics side. We need more room for extracurriculars.

General Comments: I think I was Accepted/Deferred/Rejected b/c....

i feel like im interrupting but quick question- do you think the server will be busy when ED decisions are released? i know its not a problem on some sites but i was just wondering...

i just joined but i am getting SO NERVOUS Y'ALL. like i can't deal with this...i wouldn't even mind being rejected just as long as i knew? it better be friday, i don't know if i will last much after that!!!

GOOD LUCK TO Y'ALL!!!!

Welcome aboard anditgoes and wishiwereinparis! Good Luck to both of you too!

andsoitgoes: Don't worry I think Dartmouth servers can handle the amount of client requests its going to receive on the decision day :)

While Im sure the Dartmouth Servers can handle a lot... i don't know about 1400 computers refreshing every 3 seconds. Regardless, it just takes the website really long to load, according to my brother who is an '09. When the pageload takes like 10 seconds+ to load, it will probably give me a heart attack. When I applied to my safety, UMIch, and I was waiting for my response, the page only took 3 seconds to load, but I still almost had a heart attack. And that school's my safety! Imagine 10 seconds for my DREAM SCHOOL!?!?!? Anyways, I'll keep the defribulator by my computer.

If I remember correctly, last year at about this time when my son was applying to Dartmouth it was the cc servers that went down!

first smile of the day............thanx

Yea lol, last year, CC was filled with, "OMG I KEEP REFRESHING BUT I DON'T SEE ANYTHIGN!!!"

Who needs botnets... just have a bunch of anxious teenagers refresh a site.

And everyone... remember to post your decisions. Gloat/mourn here first, aite?

I know when my sister applied ED to Yale a few years back, she had heard from a friend that accepted students first saw a screen with a bulldog (that's their mascot, right?) and then their acceptance letter. When she checked, she immediately saw a letter so she knew it wasn't an acceptance (she was deferred, waitlisted, and then rejected- pretty rough) But to my point- does Dartmouth have anything like that?

Maybe it's better I don't know...
