Yeah but 300 days? That's the total sum of hours. They have how many people looking them over? ~20-25?

yeah, but that's still 6 full 48 hour work weeks of literally nonstop application review for a team of 25 if they were to review each application on their own. Obviously, they don't review them on their own; they do it in groups.

w/e the point is not to argue petty statistics, but rather that it's a huge, time consuming process and that it's unreasonable to expect your regional admissions representative to mull over your application for hours, (or to spend 45 minutes on the phone with you, as another poster complained)

when do als, engineering and a&s begin to review apps - (start seperating into admit, deny, possible piles) after mid-yrs... or before?

I'd bet they start as soon as they can. If new information comes in on an applicant, then they might look him over again.

Who knows; it's all speculation unless you work in admissions I think.

People in my school started finding out in early March

A mother whose son applied last year said the rolling decision letters came in spurts and she listed the dates. I can't find her post though.

Any luck in finding it? what was the gist of the post?

Hi! I may be the "mom"- but it was my d and she's a soph in ILR. But I have been following the boards for 2 years and this is what I best remember about rolling admission schools. It starts about 2/18 (my mom's birthday is 2/17) so I am pretty sure it was about that time. What I recall is that each of the rolling schools only had 2 or 3 "spurts" of admittance about 2 weeks apart. So I gave examples that the first wave of admittance was about 2/18 a 2nd wave early was in early March and maybe a 3rd group in mid-March. But the MAJORITY of kids on these boards found out the end of March about the same time that all the other applicants found out. It may be different this year, but that is how I remember it for the past 2 years. If you follow these boards, you'll know when the acceptance letters go out. I knew before my d as she was in school that day and I was reading these boards. Most of you will not hear until April. So even though there is rolling admission, most of you will not hear from Cornell until April -- at least that is how it was for the past 2 years. Good luck to all.

to sparticus : are you sure its 20 minutes that they look at apps?

does your logic about applications take into account that their are separate admissions office for every school at cornell, or is everything reviewed in 1 office?

ohh thanks

Ill just forget about it for now and check back in late Feb

Oh yeah, does Cornell sent out decisions through mail(big envelope) or email ?

2 years ago- First notification was through e-mail. Letter came a few days later via regular mail (small envelope). The BIG ENVELOPE comes in April. That is how it was for ILR- I'll assume it is the same for all rolling schools.

Hey everyone, I was deferred from ILR, I sent extra material way back in early january. I was wondering when would I hear from Cornell, can it be in February or am I waiting until april?
