Decision date??

I am curious, when do MIT officials announce the RD decision dates? As I checked, last year they announced them on 1 March, however, the official website still says that "results will be posted in mid-March". I know it's usually PI day, but I feel safer when I know for certain.

Thanks.

They’ll probably announce it this week.

They generally announce them about a week before decisions come out. (It is usually pi day, but not always – wasn’t the year I was admitted, for instance.)

^Was it before or after pi day in your case?

All the EA kids are strongly under the impression that it will be pi day at 1:59 PM EST.

Chris never mentioned another date when we were talking about it, but that’s all I know. Hope it helped!

My year, it was 3/15

Piper, did 3/14 of your year fall on a Sunday? That could explain the later date.

And Felicidad, that’s awesome. Makes me wonder if caltech will do something similar in the name of rivalry. lol

^ 3/14 was a Friday that year. What explains it is that Admissions wouldn’t have been able to get through all decisions before 3/14 :)

Did I once see something online that said MIT would not release decisions during school? (though I guess they did that last year)

^lol 1:59pm EST is during school for most people in the U.S.

Yeah it is. My memory wants to tell me I read that or heard that in a video from someone at MIT admissions. Even if I did I guess it does not hold true.

It’s 3/14, pretty much confirmed. While they didn’t announce decision date, the most valid source I have is 3/14 at 6:46 PM, according to decisions.mit.edu. Unless they put this there just to have something to put, I’m pretty sure it’s then. Oh well, who knows.

We can take the official MIT decisions website as just about the most reliable source possible. :stuck_out_tongue: This is what it says:

It’s definitely for our year, so I see no reason to doubt it.

Wait…don’t get the 6:28 part

It’s twice 3/14 or 3.14, so maybe that’s why?

Did no one else see the Nigel Blogberry blog post? Best thing in the world

They put up the decision date post, and then they took it down lol.

While waiting for them to put it back up, read this, it is relevant to the story in the post =]=]:
