I'm waitlisted. International student via email.

However, as the letter said "If you accept our invitation to be considered for
admission from our Waiting List, you should return the enclosed card on or
before May 1st."
I haven't seen any attachment in my email. Could anyone clear this?

i dont think thats a good sign for us .. :( .. like lafayette only sent out admission and waitlist emails to internationals .. i just got my rejection letter by air mail yesterday

oh sorry banana.. iam getting rejected everywhere..... cuz 1st: iam international needing aid, 2nd: i am living in the states, so my ECs will eb compared to those of u guys. f i lived in VN< my ECs would have been AWESOME; 3rd: i have a twin-- we couldnt get into schools that we applied together.... for easy school like Bryn MAwr, F&m- we got waitlisted. i got into Colgate and Oberlin cuz my twin didnt apply.... we never realized that having a twin was a liability... my situation was 3 times as difficult for a normal applicant.. difficult for even any internationals applying for aid.. cuz they prefer internationals living in their countries... just as the Freeman Asian said.. .

Those numbers came straight from the denial letter (which came here too unfortunately). However, she and the others that were not offered admission to Bowdoin will probably land (and thrive) elsewhere...

Congratulations to the lucky ones who were offered admission, and best wishes to all!

Pretty sure this is another common misconception. I don't think Bowdoin accepted 480, but rather has 480 freshman spots. They probably accepted double that assuming their yield is around 50%

Could it be that those numbers refer to regular decision only? That is, early decision candidates may already be accounting for half of the available spots, and thus only 480 were accepted RD.

Oh, bananafish, I'm with you. Midd was one of my favorites, and I got waitlisted this morning, and Williams has also given me the WL. :( All the other schools I got in to are women's colleges except for Colby, so...well, let's just say I'm really hoping I at least have a real choice of whether I go to one of those or not, but I'm guessing that the WL trend will probably continue with Bowdoin. Ughhhh. Good luck, everyone!
