So if I have a 2.98 and a 1200 out of 1600 then I should get in, right?

Not necessarily, it depends on a few factors I would say: difficulty of classes, upward grade trend, essay, recs, ECs. On my Naviance account that GPA(Around 3.00) and SAT(1200) combo has about 75% of people getting in. The other 25% are either waitlisted, and a few are denied. Also your major has a big factor, do you want to join one of the more competitive majors?

I want to do engineering but I put undecided because I knew if I put engineering I had no chance. I actually don’t know my exact Gpa that is what an online calculator gave me because my school does not convert but my average in high school was an 83 with no trend what so ever it was up then down then up and my grades are like 95, 94, 71, 66.

The engineering program is definitely more competitive. I would think that putting it down as a major or not wouldn’t really matter, since you can not get that major but still be accepted, you just have to get a good GPA the first semester or two.

If I do go I will call and ask to switch into engineering before the year starts if not I will just have to get good grades to switch into it, but lets see if I can even get in first.

Congratulations! Glad to see notifications are starting to go out Are these regular decision applications?

Online status is under review…
Does anyone know if that takes a while to change?
One of my school’s has been under review since December/January!

Mine has said under review since mid January too, does anyone know if it will change online before you receive the letter?

From what I remember last year when my S went through this at UMass, they are pretty bad at both updating the online stuff and mailing out the acceptance letters in a timely manner.

I think last year the mailing of acceptances took place literally over a period of weeks, and online was equally hit or miss.

So don’t panic or read anything into it if others have gotten their packages and you haven’t received anything yet.

Ditto to notrichenough

S had the same experience last year. Slow to update online status and letters are of the trickle in type.

I am a MA state resident and I still haven’t received my college admissions decision from UMass Amherst yet. Does anyone know the absolute deadline that they must send the college decisions by?

They don’t have deadline but it you will get it by 4/30 because you have reply by 5/1.

I heard that many people in MA have already received their admissions decisions from UMass Amherst already. So I’m wondering if it will come soon. Also, the online application status still stated that the application was under review and I’m not entirely sure whether I should believe that at this point.

My application has said under review since December, it just says that until they come to a decision.

People received EA decisions earlier, I think the RD decisions are just starting to come out now.
