<p>Do instate tend to receive notice sooner than oos? What about people applying as New England regional? Is there a higher admission bar since regional people get to pay close to instate tuition?</p>
Like any large state U, it’s a big bureaucracy. If I had to guess, I would say that their method is probably “alphabetical”, but I have no real evidence on way or the other. Or maybe it is “chronological by when we received your app”. Or maybe it’s just that the person doing A-C is faster than the person doing R-U.</p>

I doubt they would admit to one; however, given they have stated a goal of increasing OOS students, it’s possible the bar may be a little higher.</p>
<p>Based on reports here, it certainly seems like you have a better chance at a $5K scholarship if you are OOS, which helps close the IS-OOS tuition gap.</p>

<p>They actually never got access to their online site to me, but I e-mailed a few days ago, and they just said “Your application is complete, decisions are coming out soon.”</p>

We applied last minute and did not think much of the school, but we have looked at the Engineering program and we look forward to visiting in a few weeks.</p>
<p>S2 was accepted to the Arts/Design program. He wants to be an Architect, and that is the program at UMass that was the closest. Waiting to hear from Architect schools. He may switch to Civil is he goes there. no mention of financial award. Envelope was metered 3/4/10, has 3/6/10 on the address label, received 3/9/10. on-line still states “pending review”</p>

<p>Anybody here transferring and get anything yet? They received all my stuff and my application was processed Dec. 29th. According to them, I could technically not hear back until June, but I’m really really hoping that’s not the case. I’m in Iowa so it may take some time, I’m just wondering if RDs got mailed out before transfers.</p>
