@bb Hmm, but I applied RD though and getting kind of worried since I’m instate…

has anyone heard in long island if they got accepted through regular decision? and how do you hear, by email or snail mail?

me too fitted hats, i applied RD and im instate. I checked online and it said that my application is still under review. I am getting really frustrated because if i dont get in ill have to commute to Worcester State :(.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, I know a couple people who have applied RD-in-state and have not heard yet. You might not hear from them until April. I applied as a transfer back in mid January, the admissions office downloaded my application on 2/9, and I have not heard anything back yet, other than the letter with status info.

If anyone on here is a transfer student and receives a letter could you please post? I’m curious when they will begin mailing them out, especially because the application deadline is 4/15 and I had mine in the second week of January.

im also instate who have not heard the decision yet, althought some people at my school have the first week of March.
I was just wondering, for those who heard their decision, did your online status change before you got the mail or it didnt change at all

Status did not change for S until a few days after he received the acceptance package.

Martina, are you sure? Because I was told that the online status would change before the letter would arrive. I would actually prefer a letter, I guess I’m old fashioned that way. ;)

The on-line status changed 4 days after S2 received his package.

My daughter’s status also changed a few days after she received her acceptance package.

M11191 - I am 100% sure. It was 3-4 days after.

Hey thanks guys, you have cured me of my compulsive web status checking.

I got a reply to an email sent to admissions today. They have had over 31,000 applications and are releasing decisions on a daily basis. They hope to complete reviews by next Monday.

That is A LOT of applications, that makes me nervous, to say the least, I wonder if my chances are better because I’m a transfer? I had a first semester GPA of 4.0, decent high school grades, although not excellent, Political Science Major, In-State, going to UConn now, I honestly have no clue what my chances are, I hope I hear soon I’m losing my mind.

Good luck M11191. I was a nervous wreck too, this was the best option for S and he really like it when we visited. Your stats sound good - good luck!

I think everyone saw that notice first thing when you log in your online status, they will continue mailing out decisions till mid-April…OMG…

Yeah I’ve been checking that status so much I almost had a heart attack when I saw that message appear, until I read it, and surprise turned to dismay. I might not hear until JUNE.

M11191, Can I ask why you are transferring from UCONN. It is high on my D list of choices?

UConn is a fantastic school and in my opinion the best public university in the Northeast. However, I simply want to go to UMass more. I’m originally from the Amherst area, and have a number of ties to the town, and I just feel it’s a better fit for me. There is also a good chance my family will be moving to Massachusetts within a couple years. So basically, I’m not transferring because I’m dissatisfied with UConn, just because I would rather attend UMass. I actually plan on going to UConn Law School, assuming everything works out;)

UConn v. UMass is a tough one, each school has advantages over the other, especially in specific majors. Amherst is certainly a better “college town”, but the general infrastructure of UConn is much more advanced, not to mention the dorms.
