Does anyone know when decisions are coming out? Will they come out online or by mail?

4/1/10
Decision letters to Regular Decision applicants mailed on or about this date. Applicants who reside outside the U.S. also will be e-mailed decisions.

ah thank you informative amherst website; for most schools it’s pretty much a complete mystery as to whether decisions are emailed or mailed. i guess it’s safe to say that they just send out the letter via snail mail if you’re in the US

According to http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/amherst-college/677683-official-decision-thread-class-2013-a.html?highlight=2013+decision, decisions were available as early as March 27 last year, so April 1 might not be the definite date.

i think that’s why they say “on or about this date”

@cephas: That sort of but-it-might-be-earlier thinking gets you nowhere. I’ve been through it three times during the early round and it doesn’t help at all to get anxious about these things.

I don’t think the post actually indicates any anxiety (anticipation maybe, but not the distress or uneasiness associated with anxiety… at least for now); I only intended to note what happened last year in supporting the flexibility of the supposed date. But you’re right – anxiety isn’t beneficial, but unfortunately it might be unavoidable in the coming weeks approaching decisions (hopefully not). I guess experiencing it three times might dull the tendency to be anxious a bit :).

haha yeah this last month is pretty terrible. i didn’t really read it as anxiety, more as precision. i really cannot wait another month. i’m so impatient.
