The letter was actually a scholarship notification, not an admission letter. I guess they went out early so that the kids could have extra time to make travel arrangements to Scholar's Weekend. I'm assuming S is in since he got the scholarship notification, but he hasn't officially been admitted.

patsmom, is your son having a fit over the fact that the weekend isn't until the middle of April? My daughter can't wait until she gets through her scholarship pain (wait for answers will be over by end of first week of April). Like you, we have to have a certain amount of "help" to be able to say yes to such wonderful, but frankly unaffordable, schools as Davidson. The final decision can't be made until we know about scholarships. If she were to get the letter your son got, she would say forget it. Is Davidson your son's first choice? If so, he must just be on pins & needles as he has to wait so long for the make-or-break numbers! Good luck to you & to him.

We are approximately 12 hours away from the release date. I think I might go to be early (on a Friday night, I know) just to make it go faster. Happy checking everybody, and I'll see you on the other side tomorrow at 10:30!

D was waitlisted. 34 ACT, 4.0 gpa, lots of EC's & leadership. That's why it's important to apply to several schools if you go the selective LAC route! Fortunately, not top choice.

Daughter waitlisted...this was one of four "reach"schools; waiting for the other three decisions. Luckily, got great merit money and honors programs at two other schools, and a full ride to her safety. Still, I hope she gets into at least one of these remaining three. Can't wait for this to be over. The suspense is killing me!

34 ACT + 4.0 = Waitlisted? Wow! That just goes to show you that all these "Please post stats for chances" is a worthless exercise. The process is way too subjective for that.
