what day does cornell ED find out? 11th? 15th?

the "midth" of december

even if they throw out a date, don't be set on it. Last year it was announced that they would release decisions on Friday, Dec. 14th. Around the 9th, we received another notification. They postponed it to Wednesday, Dec. 19th. So it could be in the middle of December, but if it is a busy year (which it very well may be), it could go close even into the 20s.

Will it be after they get everyone's final transcripts? I couldn't imagine- that's toward the end of december.

the mid-year transcripts? No, they don't hold off on those. If they have them they use them, if not they just wait for them. They are used to send out warnings to accepted ED applicants if they are doing poorly, and they are also used to re-evaluate deferred applicants.

even if you are accepted ED, you still have to send the mid year and final transcript to make sure you didnt fail out (like legit FAIL--lots of Fs, one C wont kill you) second semester. your application technically isnt fully complete until those 2 transcripts are sent

^ what if you have more than one C? i think i might get at least two this semester =S

yaaa what if you usually have straight A's, get accepted ED, then for the first semester they see you had straight B+'s? hahah

Not a big deal getting straight B's after getting in! :)
Seriously if you get in ED, maintaining B's with even a few C's is probably just fine. You just can't be consistently getting D's or F's.

I hope I get the result before dec 15 :D

oh wow i'm relieved haha, because my college counselor was really mad at me for my grades and i was really confused because i have straight 90's or around there

whew thanks for the info bestwhit! i'm so relieved.
btw bestwhit, are u a current cornell student? if so, which school? :D

Yeah, I hope they come early enough that I don't really have to do all those other apps..

Haha wow I am flattered. No, I'm just a crazed ED applicant (applying to CALS!) like most of the people around here. I just go to a high school that brainwashes us with every last bit of information about college admissions that you could ever want or need (usually).

I'm pretty sure I'M the crazed ED applicant, or was it desperate ED applicant? One of those lmao

I'm going to do some RD stuff over thanksgiving break... yay
