I just tried to post a message, and it showed up then disappeared. If the system had a hiccup and this is a repeat, I’m sorry.

But I was wondering if anyone had hard info on when the e-mails will be sent. Last year it was, I believe, the 11th at 5. Do we have any confirmation on this year’s? I’ve seen people here and there suspect it would be this Thursday or Friday at 5, but I wasn’t sure. Have any of you seen/heard anything relevant?

I'm guessing Friday at 5. That's the time when many Ivies are releasing it (UPenn, Brown, Cornell). Dartmouth is going for the 9th at 3. Yale and Princeton are coming pretty late, from what I've heard, so maybe Harvard will follow them.

yes, but you see... i called as well and was told it would be sent out next wednesday. also: don't you think you would be oh so much more relaxed if you were expecting the decision on the 15th... and say, got it a day earlier? that would be a pleasant surprise :)

I really don't want this email. The longer I wait, the better. Maybe I will forget about Harvard and then it won't matter if I get rejected...sorry for the pessimism.

it's not THAT late, just a few days after the other schools lol. come on people, don't be so down. think of it this way: the more time it takes for them to send the decisions, the more time there is for hope to exist in us. whatever is meant to be will be and the amount of time is simply a variable that will not alter the final decison. so, be happy, there's still hope at this point :)

they WILL send emails on friday
its the same thing as college board saying sat's are posted on a friday when we all know the score is posted on the thursday at 3 in the afternoon, them saying its the 14th is just in case that have a real emergency and can't get the emails in on time, they're leaving themselves room for error. However, in a normal case, I really believe they will send it friday.

It does matter for me because if i get in I will withdraw all other applications (actually I haven't sent them yet, lol)

Why doesn't Harvard say Monday as the emergency date then? It doesn't seem natural to say that the decisions will be sent out on the 14th if they are planning to send them out on the 10th. The collegeboard only estimates one extra day.

I think that the only way we can establish whether it will be the second Friday of the month, and the admissions office are simply buying time if anything should go wrong, or whether it actually will be 5pm on 12/14 is by figuring out whether every year the official line is that decisions will be mailed out on 15th and they end up arriving sooner (like the SATs and collegeboard)
