Ok, who else got an e-mail from an Admission Counselor today?

Mine wasn't a decision letter (they wanted more info), but my sister did get a rejection letter :(, so I'm thinking that another email might be coming!!!! Wow! Maybe it's just international, though.

All the same, I am super nervous. My hands are literally shaking now.

I'll be sure to give you guys any updates, but I have a feeling there won't be any more today.

are you and your sister twins? just wondering....
oh by the way... I'm international and I got a huge envelop so maybe it is just that they now decided not to waste money on sending rejection letters off line.

Hucmenzu, I'm actually a triplet. My other sister also got a rejection letter via email this afternoon. My SAT score (even though they say it's only supplementary :P) is 200+ points higher than both of theirs, though we have similar grades (GCE, CXC, GCSE, etc). Writing and ECs are my strong point, so (even if it sounds bad!) I always had an edge on them.

What do you think it means, though? That I got an email requesting extra info (why I took a gap year and what I've been doing) while they got a rejection? Waitlisted? Possibly accepted? Any ideas? I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. :|

srsx3, wow a triplet....sorry its just because ive never seen triplets in my life
and ha they're requesting more info... sure that'd be very frustrating...while ur sisters are getting rejected....I can't really say anything but think of it this way. if they are asking more info that means you're not rejected yet... Be hopeful...and good luck

It is so frustrating. I just want to know!!! Ugh! I had pushed it to the back of my mind and everything already because I figured I wouldn't hear for about a month and only by snail mail, but now it's front and center. Keeping my fingers crossed, though! Thanks!

Ok, so yesterday I got an e-mail from the International Admissions Counselor telling me my response (more of an explanation, really) had been added to my file. I'm trying not to read too much into that. :P Anyway, I e-mailed her back asking if International Applicants would find out via e-mail or postal mail. The response? International Applicants will find out via postal mail AND e-mail so they won't be at a disadvantage (compared to domestic applicants).
The best part? (For domestic applicants, anyway!) *Decisions will be sent sometime NEXT WEEK!!! * That's a week or more earlier than anticipated!

Here's the e-mail I got today from the International Admissions Counselor.

Hi XXXXX,

We will be sending letters via email and post so that our international students dont have to wait longer than our domestic students. You can expect your decision letter sometime next week. Sorry to keep you in suspense. :)

Maybe I'm clueless, but does this mean that domestic applicants will get emails or postal mail? Do some applicants get both? Is it only international applicants that will get both? Ugh....I'm so confused.

Hey. I am an Indian (born in Denver now live in PA), and I go to a boarding school in the East Coast. I applied to Wake Forest for its International Studies programs, and also because of the SAT optional. I wanted to know if I have a chance. I know that Wake really wants to increase its diversity (racial and economic wise); so at my school, I founded the Sustainability Committee which participated in its first Green Cup Challenge with other boarding schools (40-50) and came in third; I am the president of the school's Multicult. Student Union, and also an elected member of the Honor Code Society, Blue and White Keys and volunteer at the school's Library. I also serve as prefect for my dorm and also work at the Development Office (make calls to Alumni for Campaign). Lastly, I am one of the editors of the schools Newspaper. I also have a 3.5 GPA and non-weighted with 3 APS and rest Honors. It was too late to take an interview which I hope won't decrease my chances. In all of the activates, I have participated at least 3 years except the Prefect position which is reserved for seniors only. Thanks!

I took it that only international applicants would get e-mails (in addition to regular postal mail) while domestic applicants would only get postal. Not sure though. Looking back, it seems that domestic may get email notification, as well. When I e-mailed the generic Admission e-mail address last week, they told me we would be notified by postal mail only. However, in my e-mail to them, I didn't mention I was an International Applicant. Hmm. :S

You have as good a chance as anyone, especially if your writing is good! (Essay, quick questions, etc.) Good luck!
