I really wonder why we haven’t heard.

You have to understand, the people in the admissions who deal with transfera are quite incompetent.

@da6onet , why do you say that?

This is ridiculous. I can’t believe we haven’t heard anything yet

My patience is wearing thin.

I got in.

I got in!

I got in!

im in too!

Has anyone else not heard back yet as well?

Me too! So relieved!

I haven’t heard back yet…But I’m international…

I haven’t gotten anything either. I have a 3.7 GPA. I live in Maryland but go to school in another state. Does that mean I still get the perks of being an in state applicant since I technically live in UMD?

Has any international student heard back?

I was accepted for the spring last friday. I have talked with people from admissions, they said they look for a 3.0 GPA, have the math and English requirement completed before you apply, and have 30 or more credits. They said if you have that you are usually accepted. I had a 3.49 GPA with 38 credits

@Katherine070 Not yet…I have 143 credits and a 3.74 GPA, BS magna cum laude in Biochem…

What math requirement needs to be completed? That was never explained on the application checklist. I have a 3.47 with 62 credits and I still haven’t heard back yet.

I haven’t heard anything either. I went to the University of South Carolina my freshman year and accumulated 34 credits. I have a 3.75 GPA, worked 2 jobs (one with the University Career Center), and held leadership positions in 2 campus organizations. I applied for Fall and didn’t get accepted. Yet, the admissions rep told me I would have a better chance of being accepted for spring. I’m now at my local CC. Recently, I called the admissions office and a representative told me that I would more than likely not get accepted AGAIN because I did not have the English requirement. My previous college gave me English 101 and 102 credit from AP Lit. Knowing that UMD doesn’t accept AP Lit for Engl 101, I called before applying the first time to ensure that I wasn’t going to get dismissed because of this. The representative assured me that I was fine. Since then, I have heard different answers from different people inside the Admissions office concerning this matter. The head of Transfer Admissions told me that the English requirement was just a “qualification” not a requirement, so I still would have a good chance being accepted especially since I took courses and have experience in journalism. I guess I’ll find out on Friday whether this is true or not.

@Grkgrl26 They are looking for Calc 1 for the math requirement

Oh, and my application says it’s incomplete because I haven’t sent my Community College transcript. Though, this is my first semester ever there and don’t have one. I called on regards to that and got even more answers that didn’t match.
