Decision help!

Hey everybody!

I have been reading these forums this entire year and I just finally registered because I am at that point where college decisions have come out and I must make a decision. I completely slacked off throughout high school and I am now paying the price. My cumulative GPA ended up just below a 3.0, but thanks to SAT of 2060 I did actually get accepted into a couple CSU's. I am now faced with a couple options!

Sacramento State University- I like the environment but I'm not so sure about how great of a school it is.

Chico State University-I actually love Chico's campus and everyone there, but unfortunately it has the reputation that gives it a bad name for employers as well as my parents haha.

San Jose State University-To be honest I didn't really like anything about SJSU, but I thought I'd put it on here anyway.

Santa Rosa Junior College-This is what I am leaning towards at the moment as I would be signing a transfer agreement so I could hopefully transfer into the school of my dreams, but I also do not want to pass up the college experience that I could get when going straight to a 4 year college.

I've also applied to ASU just in case and I am still waiting on their decision.

I have applied for International Business, and Chemical Engineering as my majors for most of these schools. (I know, completely different!)

Anyway, sorry for being so wordy but I just wanted to see what you guys think would be the best decision. Thank you for any replies! Good luck as well!

I say go with San Jose State. It’s a pretty reputable school and it’s also in the middle of Silicon Valley so there will be a lot of job opportunities for you. The thing with going to a junior college is that it’s kinda risky. I talked to some people who went to community college and most of them took 3 years to transfer to a UC because they didn’t have enough units to transfer. I you’re willing to take the risk, go to a community college. Otherwise, I suggest SJSU.

I have friends that went to Sac State and they hate it. The campus is packed and muddy. The people are rude and the air is unclean.

@biancat20, I hear the hype about SJSU and it sounds great but I did not like it when I visited it 3 weeks ago. Now with the impacted school system its harder to get your JC work done in 2 years for sure, but I think its possible dont you? If you set out your path way ahead of time?

@fluteloop, that sucks to hear because thats actually the only one that I was considering haha!

Thanks for the replies!

If you want to go to a UC or school with better research materials for engineering you could go to a community college after 2 yrs then transfer to a UC or any other 4 yr college

So, what did you decide?
