I have roughly a week to pick one of the following schools (to be a finance major and end up working in i-banking).

I wish I would have found this category of threads earlier.

Here's my situation.

Disregard college life, money, etc.

Based on academics and job placement, what are your thoughts on:

NYU Stern
UVA McIntire
U of M Ross

These are my top three

Also, I have basically ruled them out, but Georgetown, Northwestern, and Cornell have all also accepted me, but for a variety of reasons I have eliminated them. Please comment on them if you feel the need.

you probably couldnt have chosen three more similar schools in terms of academics or placement, though ross and stern are probably marginally better for wall street recruiting.

Sorry to say but honestly they are all virtually the same.

I would say that it doesn’t matter which one you choose, presitge and everything, is pretty much similar so I would say base your decision on how well it fits you.

Why would you go to an undergrad business school? In todays market it wont give an edge in the job market. Go to Georgetown or Cornell for great education.

you go to UG b-school now so that when the market recovers, you’re raking in $$$ while others are trying to break in to catch the next recession. Think long term… you might be doing this for 40 years, might as well get any advantage you can find.

Also, I’d personally choose between Ross and Stern if we’re talking ibanking opportunities. They’re considered “soft” targets while Mcintire doesn’t have as much rep. Disregard the rankings, top liberal arts universities aren’t even ranked on there and bankers would laugh at you if you told them McIntire>Wharton.
