Decision is finally up

K, didn't get in (DUH)

But I got guaranteed transfer. Does cornell give this to everyone?

Jay

what's guaranteed transfer??

no, obviously not...then anyone could apply to CU and get in after a year...props on that, we hope to see you next year

mcortex...if you spend a year in college, and maintain a certain average...usually 3.0 you get garunteed transfer sophomore year if you so choose.

i got that too

I recieved it also. Looks like I'll be a Cornell 09' afterall!

how does a gauranteed transfer letter look like?

yeah wait so is it ok to put cornell '09 on my profile, i dont want to offend anyone or try to be something im not (accepted)

What major CMB? Will you be taking the transfer?

can someone copy paste a gauranteed xfer letter?

biology and society in CALS, and yeah probably depends on how many years. if 2 years then i'm gonna go to university of maryland or university of vermont (probably maryland) and not take it, if 1 then i will probably go to stonybrook(near where i live) and transfer. what about you?

Dear Caitlin,

We are providing you with our decision on your application for admission to Cornell University. We regret to have to tell you that we are unable to offer you admission to Cornell at this time.

This electronic message is not your official notification. You should be receiving an official letter from the undergraduate college to which you applied. In this letter, you will learn that the college is offering you a guaranteed transfer option. Please read the letter carefully and contact the college directly if you have any questions.

We understand that this is not the news you were hoping to hear from Cornell. Given our very large and competitive applicant pool, it is not possible to offer admission to all candidates who would benefit from a Cornell education.

We wish you the best.

Sincerely,

Jason Locke
Director
Undergraduate Admissions Office
Cornell University

I'm feeling quite certain I'll take it, Science of Natural and Environmental Systems. Probably 2 years at Tulane, U Florida, or Eckerd College. Why would you not transfer out of Maryland?

because i love it there and i wouldn't want to leave

I'm sorry, that does make sense. I'm just very psyched about Cornell right now, hard to imagine anybody not wanting to go :)

Were any of you guranteed transfers legacies???????

I wasn't a legacy at all.

CMB720 and FishS.. we should be very proud of ourselves. If you guys take this offer, we WILL be Cornell 09'!!

I'm accepting the offer. I'll go to state school that offered me a ton of money, do well there and go to cornell in my 2nd yr... since it's guaranteed and all :)

We ARE Cornell 09'.. kinda :P

The website said guaranteed transfer is given to only few students. So it's all good :)

oh yeah baby :)

Hope it's one year tho. I'm too psyched about Cornell right now.

ILR here btw.

Ah, question.. so is it different from waitlist? or is it the same thing

okay...rejected at Cornell, waitlisted at Dartmouth.

though i'm glad i wasn't admitted..cuz I know I probably wouldnt have ended up enrolling at Cornell. anyways, CONGRATS to ALL who were accepted...Cornell is an awesome school...you guys should applaud yourselves.

hhboyji: Guaranteed transfer is great. I get to go somewhere cheap in a warm climate for 2 years and knock out all the intro classes! How do you already know it's a 1 year transfer though? The web decision didn't specify...
