i think im gonna get deferred. darn it

I got in. Processed by the 8th. 36 ACT 4.0 GPA OOS

processesd by nov. 8 or oct. 8?

november. Well that's when my last thing came in.

uhh.....they got my application on the 9th and my teacher rec in on the 25th. and I STILL haven't heard anything...

processed on 8th as well, have yet to hear. But on the other hand just look at his stats ... 4.0, 36 ACT, it isn't much of a question whether he's going to get accepted or not, is it?

orlwd, you haven't been waiting very long. They got my app on the 17th of Sept and rec on 2nd of Oct.

her* stats, actually =)

Funny story is: I'm from Ohio and I was in my OSU pajamas and OSU hoodie when I found out. =)

^^^LOSER. LOSER. LOSER.

GO BLUE. BEAT OSwho?

JK, are you goin to umich now or what?

I don't know. It depends if I get money or not. It's a good school, but not worth the out of state tuition.

heyy, michigan received all of my stuff by oct 2nd, but i have yet to get a response :/
my school is very competitive, and i know the majority of my grade (400 kids) is applying to umich.
anyway i have a 3.6 gpa unweighted in 4 APs 2 honors classes and a 2110
do you think i'll get deferred?

by the way good luck to everyone!

Yeah... im freaking out because someone in my school with way lower SATs, way lower GPA, less EC's, andd they submitted 4 days after me found out he got in already!!!! If he found out, then that means they have read my application already, and didn't make a decision yet...

pamplemoose: not true, there are a lot of reasons for delay. if it makes you guys feel any better, i got my response 2 weeks later than some people who'd submitted theirs on the same day and i got in OOS

tennis: you are in an interesting situation bc you are going to be evaluated based on the rest of your environment (this is a fact, a u of m adcom told us this). in other words, how do you match up with the rest of your school? if you are near the top of that pool, you should be fine. even if you aren't though, don't worry, there's a lot of other stuff that factors in too. are you IS or OOS? IS you should be fine (GPA is low, but SATs are very strong, esp. by in-state standards).

are there going to be anymore decisions coming out this week. Isn't the actual "decision day" this friday?

Yeah orwld, that's what I thought. I'm praying!

vc08- i'm out of state, but my school is extremely competitive..i'm definitely in the higest courses available, so the kids that normally surround me are especially smart. I've heard that michigan realizes how difficult it is to have a strong gpa at my school and takes that into consideration. Most people do really well, but they realize at another school, our numbers would most likely be even better.

i just wouldn't worry about it.

The only advice I can give to people is not to worry. I know, easier said than done, but things will all work out, and you will enjoy it more if you understand that. There will be more decisions, just bc it has only been 3 weeks and you haven't gotten in DOES NOT mean you won't be admitted. Adcoms can only read so fast, they need their lunch breaks too. They're doing the best they can to get you a decision by Dec. 21st. And remember, that's all that was promised. Getting it any earlier is simply a gift from them. Good luck to all, and ENJOY your Thanksgiving!

When did they say that they are going to release the decisions this friday? Also, about what time should we all find out by?

It says on the website that every two fridays they will release decision. Hope everyone has a happy thanksgiving!!
