Decision is made, process is over, breathing normally again ...

As of two days ago, the college search, selection, admission, scholarship application(s), and interviews are finally over and done with for the last of my brood.
What a wild ride the last 4 years have been! While I didn't discover CC until a few years ago, I would like to express my sincere thanks for all the helpful information and encouragement shared in these posts. Thanks to all who so willingly give of their time and energy to help so many parents and students navigate the maze of confusion that comes along with this process!

I count myself fortunate to have gleaned so many important things from the members of this community and feel that it truly helped me guide my children along the path. When talking with other parents in my local community, I'm always quick to suggest CC as a starting point because of our good experience.

Finally, my youngest committed to a full ride offer with a terrific school on Wednesday! I'm not sure we would have even known how great this place was had we not read it here. So thank you ALL!

wow, congrats!

Congrats!!!

Where will your child be going? Full ride! Awesome!

University of Tulsa. It was her first choice college and she received word Wednesday that she is a Presidential Scholar. We were thrilled beyond belief and she is over the moon with joy!
Just the night before, she had sat down with her dad and I and had asked us that if she didn’t get this scholarship and only had what they gave her on the first offer, would we be willing to pay the difference and after much discussion we had agreed in spite of two other almost full ride offers that would have made more sense money wise. But, in the end, she won us over. You can only imagine how this news hit us the very next day and how very proud we are of her …

Grinning from ear to ear for you :D

That’s awesome - congrats to you all!

OP: Congrats! now it’s time to relax and celeberate.

Good for your daughter and for you! Congrats!

Fabulous news!!! And thank you for sharing the school. This is a great honor for your soon to be college student. AND this info many help someone else on this forum who is looking for a similar school!!!

That is great news. I too appreciate what I have learned on CC, not to mention the fun I have had. I didn’t discover it until after my daughter’s application results had come in and I wish I had found it sooner, it would have helped us.

That’s great KCB. Congrats to D. Enjoy!

Enjoy the feeling! And congratulations!

Congrats to your D and your family…go Conference USA (S2 attends a C-USA sch. too)

Now you can celebrate - big time!

kcb: Beyond awesome for you and your D. Congrats. And you get to be heros to her for agreeing to this school regardless! So glad it has worked out.

Congrats to you and your daughter! I bet it is quite a relief to be at the end of the college selection process. I’m just finishing up with first one and thinking about having to get started with the next one.

We’re nearly there ourselves. DD received the last of her offers in today’s mail. Her father and I feel so blessed that she has the opportunity to choose between various merit scholarships from each fine school. Two are full tuition! We’ll be very busy this weekend discussing her options. I’m hoping it is all settled by spring break. Then, we’ll really be able to relax. And like mom2010grad, I’ll take a deep breath and start over with the next one…but I hope to be wiser and calmer.

Congratulations to your D, that is so awesome!! Can’t agree more about “finding”" CC it gives me hope that we will weather the next 10 years – first of three will start in fall 2010. I’ll be older and grayer and quite near retirement by the time the last finishes:)
