Decision letter button has appeared!

So, we r going to get our decision a day earlier ... as this email i received just now says:

Dear

I want to let you know that we will allow Regular Decision applicants (and Early Decision applicants whose admissions decision was deferred to Regular Decision) to Duke University to view their admissions decisions on-line beginning 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2005.

If you've already registered on our site and created your own user ID and password, you can check your decision by going to our web site, <a href="http://www.admissions.duke.edu%5B/url%5D">www.admissions.duke.edu</a>. Just log in as a returning user with your user ID and password and click on the "Check My Status" button, which will take you to the admissions decision screen. Then click on "Decision Letter" to view your admissions decision.

...

Good luck with all of your applications, and thanks again for applying to Duke!

So, our wait is reduced by 24 hours! ... good luck everyone ... and dont let the Duke spirit die out in this forum!

TRUST ME! it wont...its just starting ;)

I really think i may have deleted my letter...it hasnt arrived as yet...ok, im getting scared. Did any of u international financial aid students get ur letter?

no it really is because I received the same letter and I'm not known to lie......

lol, i wasnt saying that i thought u were lying, im sure u got the e-mail, im syaing that i may have mistakenly deleted my e-mail or i may have not gotten it...which may mean something.

nah man, don't take me too seriously. I knew you weren't thinking that. I was just saying that's all ;)

bahamain, yes, i'm an international and applied for fin aid. i got that email today.
i went to check my status and the button is already there! just not activated, ahh, i'm so nervous. duke is my first choice!

sigh of relief

Ok, i got the e-mail...it was sent to an alternate e-mail address...im okay now.
wheew.

Same situation here, chickenlegs :))

It may seem a lie but an hour before receiving the email I dreamed about having one from Duke saying Congratulation! and bla bla. :)) And when I got the SMS (I receive an SMS alert with the subejct sender of any new email) I nearly freaked out because I was not at home and the email subject was On-line Decision Notification.... and nothing more because of lack of space! I got absolutely insane only to find out that I have 6 looong days to wait for it.

Best of luck to all!

I always have dreams abt Duke...never about my decision tho...we're really paranoid.

MR CHRISTOPHER GUTTENTAG (DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS) PERSONALLY SIGNED MY E-MAIL!!!! THAT MUST MEAN I AM IN!

Just kidding, I really am not an idiot, I promise.

hehehe, u scared me there for a while ;).

I got the email too!!!!

Dear Sempitern555(jk, has my real name)

If you've registered on our site but haven't used your access code to create your own user ID and password, just get your access code from the two-page Data Verification Letter we mailed you when you first submitted your application, and click on the "Have My Access Code" button, located on the right side of our home page. After doing so, you will have access to your admissions decision on Wednesday.

If you haven't already registered on our site and set up your password and user ID, you will need to do so. We realize that by registering on our site you are providing information that we already have; however, this step is a necessary part of the on-line registration process. Once you've registered you can use your access code to create your user ID and password, which will give you access to your admissions decision on Wednesday.

Using your access code to create a user ID and password is the only way to view your application and admissions status decision on-line. That code was included on the two-page Data Verification Letter you received from us after you began your Duke application (international students received theirs via e-mail). Please keep in mind that your access code is not the PIN number you used to apply on-line.

Since we deliver our decision letters only to the applicants themselves, we expect that only the applicant will be checking his or her decision on-line. We will ask you--as a final step--to confirm that you are the applicant before you are able to see your admissions decision.

Almost 60% of our Regular Decision applicants have already registered, and set up passwords and user IDs, so they could check whether their applications were complete. Now those of you who have registered and entered your access code will be able to see your admissions decision as well.

If you cannot locate your Duke access code, I am very sorry that for security reasons we are not able to provide it to you by phone or e-mail. I hope you understand that maintaining the confidentiality of our applicants' records needs to be our first concern. Of course, we will still be mailing all of our decision letters, and they will be mailed the first week of April or we can provide your admissions decision by telephone beginning Monday, April 4, 2005.

If you decide to check your decision online, we strongly encourage you to check your decision in the privacy of your own home, not at school. We believe your decision is a private matter, and for many reasons we have found it's best for applicants to be away from friends and classmates when they check their decisions.

If you have any technical questions, please direct them to support@admissions.duke.edu. You can direct all other questions or concerns to the Admissions Office staff at 919-684-3214 beginning Monday, April 4, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Good luck with all of your applications, and thanks again for applying to Duke!
