Aw, c'mon, dont be soo hard on yourself, hehe, i was a bit nervous aswell, and was rushing up and down the page looking for it.

From what ive seen, ur a great and intelligent person and im sure anyone woudnt have a problem being ur roomate ;).

thanks lol, i am actually a clown...

lol no you're not.. dont' be so hard on yourself, as Bahamain said

i dunno, lithium bromide, I prefer sodium pentathol myself

I know of some people who prefer sildenafil citrate.. lol, can u guys get my catullus like reference ?

lol what exactly ARE you guys talking about?! too lazy to scroll up and figure it out

I just listed the chemical names of some famous drugs

sodium pentathol is the drug that makes u tell the truth
sildenafil citrate is viagra

it was sort of a joke :p, I guess I didnt think it out too well

lol no its okay, I would just really have NO way of knowing that..... the chemical names of those drugs, I mean

There is a drug that makes u tell the truth????

yes, of course there is. I'm sure there are things that are more powerful and work better but sodium pentathol is the most famous and well known one, it acts as a sort of sedative which lowers your guard

its also easy to make, my chem teacher sort of jokingly threatened us with it

Whoa. I was referred to this conversation from the Cornell board. You Duke people rock. What's a fancy schmancy name for cough syrup? It's keeping me awake somehow right now...

look at the active ingredient on the bottle

cough syrup does have a lot of alcohol in it(I think 23%)

it shouldnt be keeping you up, most cough syrups are like nyquil and have mild sedative effects. of course, you could be taking something with a stimulant in it(like Dayquil)... tell me what you're taking and I might be able to tell you the active ingredient

hehehe, we're not all 'Duke People" yet...we're Duke hopefulls...most of us atleast.

I'm a duke hopeful, and a proud one at that, your yield rate will increase if you accept me, for any adcoms that might peruse this ;)

Yeah, I was expecting to be knocked out. This is some new perscription thing I've never taken before.. Weirdd...

Good luck to all you hopefuls. Is Duke rolling? One of my friends got in but I'm not sure if it was just a likely letter of some sort.

duke is not rolling, they do have a minority auto admit weekend and also some sort of likely letter for athletes/legacies/ otherwise amazing people

I didnt get a likely, I got a handwritten letter from the admin office

Woww the personal touch! Very nice.. Congrats!!

Yea, so, he's basically in...lucky lucky him.

I dunno, the admin letter never specifically said admissions but just mentioned that I was a good writer and a very good candidate

then I called my local admin and we had a very nice small chat

I cant take anything for a given at this point though Duke is certainly very promising.

but thanks for the encouraging words

He said that you were a good writer? Was he referring to ur admissions essays?

yes.... I was thrilled
