So I had this idea about starting a thread that contains all my rejection/acceptance/waitlist letters from the universities.

This is primarily because I wanted to consolidate them in a pdf file. So I decided why not post on CC as well.
Also because I got looots of time to spare :D

I’m gonna start with some decisions I have received. This won't be limited just to me. Please post any of those awesome decisions you received in the previous days and I didn't. I really want to see some of those HMC, UChicago, Ivy, MIT and Caltech acceptance/rejection letters.
And please please do not post anything else or spam this with discussions . Just letters.

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign into the Electrical
Engineering program in the College of Engineering for the Fall 2011 semester! Illinois prides itself on the
caliber of its students and I am happy to include you in such a prestigious group.
There is much to plan before starting classes and I know you have questions about being a student at
Illinois. It is important to us that your transition to campus be an enjoyable one. Many students are eager to
know how to make the most of this experience and want to know where to live. The best way to learn about
what it’s like to be a student on our campus is from current students on our blog at
[U of I Admissions: Blog](http://blog.admissions.illinois.edu) and our YouTube channel at
[YouTube - IllinoisAdmissions’s Channel](http://www.youtube.com/illinoisadmissions).
In addition, it is mandatory that you complete the Admitted Checklist found at
[U of I Admissions: Admitted](Page Not Found, Illinois Undergraduate Admissions). It lists the simple steps you will need to complete prior to
beginning your Illinois experience. If you need additional information please contact us at
admissions@illinois.edu or 217.333.0302.
Important details about your admission are located on the other side of this letter. Please review
everything carefully, as it will assist in a smooth transition to life on campus.
Welcome to the Illinois family! I look forward to seeing you on campus.

It is an honor to inform you of the Admissions Committee’s decision to offer you a place in the California Institute of Technology Class of 2015.

The staff, faculty and students on the Admissions Committee see in you not only an accomplished student but also a person with the passion and creativity to pursue study in mathematics, science and engineering at the highest level. You have an opportunity to take your place amongst a community of scholars with an extraordinary record of accomplishment and a shared commitment to become leaders in the scientific community. We know you have many choices. It is our sincere hope that you will choose to pursue your education at Caltech.

With your admission to Caltech, your thoughts may turn to attending college. Please note, however, that your admission is contingent on the continuation of your strong academic and personal record.

On behalf of the Caltech community, I extend our warmest congratulations. We hope to welcome you to campus in the fall.

Hello Compscifan
I saw you have been admitted to Purdue, so far I have an acceptance only from Purdue, what is your opinion on Purdue ? do you know anyone else from India who is likely to go to the class of 2015, after rejections from UCB and UCLA ;-( I am not very confident about Princeton, Cornell and Harvard so probably Purdue remains my only option ???

Among the many tasks faced by the Colgate admission staff, by far the most difficult responsibility we have is to notify a student that we are unable to offer admission. We appreciate the interest you have shown in Colgate and the dedication reflected in your academic and personal record, but after careful review of our applicant pool, I am sorry to inform you of our conclusion that we cannot offer you a position in the Colgate Class of 2015.

The admission process this year was highly competitive. We have reviewed applications from more than 7,800 talented students for 760 places in the class. In recent years we have enjoyed an increasing level of interest from very talented students. One consequence of this stronger applicant pool is that we must disappoint many students who certainly could meet the challenge of a Colgate education and contribute to life on campus. Our decision to deny admission is very much a reflection of this competitive situation in which we do not have room to admit many fine candidates.

I trust that you have identified some alternate college choices that will provide the academic challenge you seek. If your interest in Colgate continues, however, you are welcome to apply for admission as a transfer student once you have completed one year of college work in the liberal arts at another institution.

Reject, I am sorry that the news today is not pleasant. I received notifications like this myself so I know how you feel. We remain grateful to you for choosing to apply to Colgate and respect the effort you devoted to your application and preparation for college. We also hope the remainder of your senior year will be filled with a sense of optimism and excitement as you make plans to complete high school and begin your college years. I do want you to know that the admission committee at Colgate wishes you the very best success throughout the future.

Sincerely,
Gary L. Ross
Vice President and Dean of Admission
