decision letters

oh yeah about that .. does anyone know if Catholic services are offered? I know Villanova is near by..

Villanova IS near by... 5 or 10 minutes away.

I got my letter yesterday (friday) and I got in. Yaaa. never interviewed never visited, #'s HORRIBLE. Yaaa for me. Good luck everybody.

I got into Haverford. The package came by postal mail. Very Exciting. I never interviewed or visited but I have heard wonderful things baout the school. Lets just say my #'S are horrible. I wish everyone the best of luck.

Sry about the double note.

Has anyone received any letter or package from Haverford who lives in the Midwest or West? Or do all of you so far live in the East?

Nothing in today's mail, but I'm wondering about tomorrow...

I got waitlisted on Monday and I'm in Colorado.

I don't believe Catholic services are offered on campus, but I do know of Catholics here who still go to mass.

My suitemate is Catholic and she goes to services in the campus center almost every sunday and on friday mornings as well, I think. I'm pretty sure there's bible study once a week as well. She's told me that there are really nice services at Bryn Mawr, too.

To answer 121spirea's question, I got my waitlist letter on Monday and I'm from Connecticut, so I'm guessing mostly Eastern people have heard.

Hmm, my best friend was another one of the many kids in the top 5 of their class with ~1500 who got waitlisted. I really sense some "Tufts" syndome here, but note that she DID get in Wash U. On the other hand, maybe their pool is just that competitive. After all, there are a limited number of slots. On this site alone over ten people have been waitlisted with 1500+. HOWEVER, only about 150-200 slots are available. So, really, we're not going to see a lot of acceptees. Perhaps Haveford just draws in competitive applicants.

i doubt it. it's really quite simple: you only have so many spots, and an excess number of applicants with virtually the same credentials. naturally, not everyone is going to get in.

I'll post my stats just to show you how similar they are to the waitlisted's:

Impressive! Your stats are essentially the same as my friends (similar interests, similar tests scores). So yes, you're probably right - they just had to make tough choices. Good luck! You deserve it!

My friend was accepted 1320 / 3rd in the class. I don't know exact GPA but at least a 3.9UW I'd say. She is going to have completed 6 AP's. She also interviewed.

Congratulations to all the acceptees! I just want to say that I am from NYC, and I will be attending the Welcome Party for Newly Accepted Students in NYC. Who else in here from NY is going?
