Decision Letters!

 Join the club!

It’s like the guy who refuses to propose to his girlfriend of 7 years and then, when she decides that she wants to date someone else, he turns on the charm and makes all sorts of overtures to keep her available and string her out…but with no real intention of giving her a ring or a date.

Shameless and sleazy.

I’ll send you a decoder ring when you send in 20 boxtops and $3.95 S&H.

Oh..you must be old! Decoder rings went out in the 1960’s! That explains alot!

Haha jk D’yer, We love ya!

Lol, I get it now.
I had to google ā€œDecoder ringsā€, hahaha
If you were a young kid during the ā€œdecoderā€ fad, then that would make you older then my grandfather! WOW!
lol

Oh, I’m old. But if you ever saw *A Christmas Story/I (TBS runs it for 24 hours straight every year) you’d know about decoder rings and Ovaltine and Lil’ Orphan Annie and Red Ryder air rifles and what a ā€œmajor awardā€ is.

dyer maker, my S lawrenceville letter for the waiting list was worse than this. Basically they said, we loved your background but try another school.

I’m old too - I guess I should get my S his own screen name so he can address the younger crowd

awwww mannn :(

bumpppp. I just thought you guys might find this intersting since it’s so close to March 10th. 18 days by my last count!

WOAH. People don’t know what decoder rings are? They were famous in the 90s//early 2000s… I would think that four to eight year olds at the time would have fond memories of finding decoder rings in their Coco Puffs.

Lawrenceville’s letter’s extremely arrogant in my opinion…

If anyone wants to know how they let you know that you’ve been taken off the waitlist and moved to the accepted list,

I just got an email from my interviewer:

I am happy to inform you that you have moved from our waitlist to our ACCEPTED list!
(And about how my acceptance will arrive in the mail soon, and how they hope I join the school community in the fall)

It may be different for you guys; I live overseas.

that’s cool. What school was it?

which schools? It can’t be in TSAO, that’s all I know. They are pretty strict about not giving off ā€œadmissionā€ vibes pre march 10.

yea…thats kinda weird. Why don’t they just wait till you get the letter? is it because they think you may get the letter late (cause your international), but really want you at their school? (because maybe if you knew from a different school earlier, you would want to go there instead)

the email was from last year.
sorry if i confused anyone
they sent the email on APRIL 10th.

Oh wow. ok… If I get WL to my top choices and get accepted on the tenth my life will be amazing.

I know i’m probably going to get rejected, and i’m ready for the letter and the sad look on my parents face

My recomendations will be pretty bad. Atleast i gave it a shot

Hold up. Can I ask where you applied?
You gotta understand one thing. This board is NO WHERE NEAR a fair representation of the type of applicant… I mean an 84% is good enough for at least 99% of the schools out there(if not 100%). It is good enough for Exeter, Andover and the like.
Alot of great schools aren’t mentioned on CC…

Middlesex- why do you think your recs will be bad? I have never seen an applicant say that… maybe you are just letting nerves wreck your confidence? Don’t give up hope! You only need one acceptance!

What Italianboarder said is correct. Take into account that people will not want to post their scores if it is below ~90%ile. There are three cuts which make CC so ā€œeliteā€ in terms of stats:

A lot of people do not know

People who do know, probably do not care enough to check so often

People who browse just do not want to post their scores because they believe it is sub par to CC standards
