decision mode- Purdue vs Lafayette

My son thought he wanted the small techie schools...until he got in and we visited. He went to Purdue expecting it to be way too big but was impressed with the presentations and the opportunities. He wants to stay involved in FIRST or do the Baja car or similar. I think he is still concerned with the size of classes at Purdue. He just got accepted to Lafayette and we are trying to decide whether to hop a plane and visit. He is concerned that an engineering degree from an LAC won't hold the same weight as it would from Purdue. Any of you experts know either program enough to weigh in? It's Monday and we need to book that flight if we are going!

My daughter is receiving her BS this year from Lafayette and has been accepted at Stanford for PhD with full funding. Several other schools also. Her friends have also had similar success at top programs. At an LAC you have the opportunity for closer relationships with professors. Lafayette is apparently well known by the top engineering schools. LAC or large research University is up to the feeling of the prospective student. Good luck with your search.

thanks for your answer!
